    • Records third steal Wednesday
Raley went 2-for-4 with an RBI single and a stolen base in a win over the Royals on Wednesday.

Advice: Raley delivered a timely single in the eighth inning that plated pinch runner Leonardo Rivas, extending the Mariners' lead back to two runs after Bobby Witt had brought the Royals within one in the top half of the frame. Raley's multi-hit effort was an extension of a torrid stretch at the plate for the offseason addition, one that's seen him generate a .435 average and 1.219 OPS over the last seven games. • Idle against lefty
Soderstrom is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Astros.

Advice: With lefty Framber Valdez on the hill for Houston, the lefty-hitting Soderstrom will retreat to the bench. Soderstrom appears to have settled into the strong side of a platoon at first base with the right-handed-hitting J.D. Davis, who will get the starting nod Wednesday. • Pops third homer
Raley went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in a loss to the Astros on Tuesday.

Advice: Raley continues to profile as one of the inconsistent Mariners' more reliable hitters after a slow start to his team tenure, with Tuesday's homer his second in as many games. Raley's season average and OPS are up to a solid .265 and .729, respectively, and he sports a .357/.419/.714 slash line over the 31 plate appearances encompassing his last nine games. • Smacks sixth homer
Joe went 1-for-3 with a walk, a solo home run and two runs scored Tuesday against the Brewers.

Advice: Joe returned to the lineup after sitting Monday and has started nine of Pittsburgh's 12 games in May. He's hit .294 with three home runs, seven runs scored and seven RBI in that span, and he lifted his sixth long ball of the season Monday. Joe should continue to get regular run at both first base and in right field as one of the Pirates' more productive hitters. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 7:18 am

    • Alec Burleson homers, doubles in Cardinals’ win
Alec Burleson finished 3-for-5 with a two-run homer and a double as the Cardinals edged the Angels 7-6 on Tuesday.

Advice: It was rather surprising that Burleson was even in the lineup tonight, as he was making just his fourth start against a left-handed pitcher. The strong showing puts him up to .272/.306/.437 this season, and while that might not be overly exciting, his .743 OPS is tops on the Cardinals, at least once one excludes the .950 mark posted by Willson Contreras before he got hurt. Burleson remains an iffy played in mixed leagues, but it’d be no surprise if he remains one of the best bats on a subpar offense. Rotoworld Tuesday, 11:24 pm

    • Stellar in Tuesday's win
Burleson went 3-for-5 with a two-run home run, a double, a stolen base and two total runs scored in Tuesday's 7-6 win over the Angels.

Advice: Burleson has gone 9-for-24 (.375) over his last seven games, with five of his hits in that span going for extra bases. He also picked up his first steal of the campaign in Tuesday's win. The 25-year-old is up to a .272/.306/.437 slash line with four homers, 15 RBI, seven runs scored and five doubles over 108 plate appearances. He's operated in a strong-side platoon role for much of the season, but it's encouraging to note that two of his three hits Tuesday, including his homer, came against left-handed pitchers. With both Dylan Carlson and Lars Nootbaar under the Mendoza line, there could be an opportunity for Burleson to see more consistent playing time, especially since he's been in the lineup against the last three southpaws the Cardinals have faced. • Hot hitting continues Monday
Soderstrom went 2-for-4 with an RBI single and a double in a loss to the Astros on Monday.

Advice: Soderstrom delivered half the offense for the Athletics on the night with his fourth-inning knock, which plated Brent Rooker. The 22-year-old Soderstrom extended the red-hot start to his first big-league stint of 2024 with his multi-hit effort, as he's now reached safely in all four games he's appeared in and has doubled in back-to-back contests. • Enjoys big game Monday
Raley went 3-for-4 with a home run, two total runs, three total RBI and a stolen base in Monday's 6-2 victory against Kansas City.

Advice: Raley put Seattle on the scoreboard in the second inning with a 432-foot, two-run blast to to center field, and he added a run-scoring single in the third. The 29-year-old was batting just .218 through the end of April, but he's now at .266 with a strong start to May. Though nine games this month, he's gone 9-for-24 (.375) with two long balls, six RBI and seven runs. Rotowire.com Monday, 11:38 pm

    • Luke Raley homers, plates three in win over Royals
Luke Raley homered, drove in three runs and stole a base Monday in a 6-2 win over the Royals.

Advice: Raley has been excellent in May, and this was easily his best game in a Mariner uniform. The outfielder scored a two-run homer off Brady Singer in the second inning, and he drove in another with an RBI single in the third. The outfielder also stole his second base of the season, and he’s athletic enough to project more if he can continue to get on base. At this point, it sure seems likely that Raley is going to see much more consistent playing time than he did to begin the year. Rotoworld Monday, 9:17 pm
