    • Kwan (hamstring) could begin rehab assignment soon
      Guardians general manager Chris Antonetti told reporters Sunday that the hope is that Steven Kwan (hamstring) will begin a rehab assignment in the next 7-10 days.

      Advice: Kwan was able to take batting practice Friday and has reportedly made steady progress from the hamstring strain that has sidelined him since the middle of May. The outfielder will likely need to play a handful of MiLB games, but then could be back hitting at the top of the Cleveland lineup around the start of June. Rotoworld Sunday, 8:39 am

    • Triples twice, drives in four
      Perez went 2-for-4 with two triples, a run scored and four RBI in Saturday's 8-3 win over the Diamondbacks.

      Advice: Perez batted third and continued his strong start to the season, as he boosted his batting average to an even .300 and his OPS to .906. The versatile 24-year-old has settled in as the team's primary center fielder due to Parker Meadows being demoted to the minors.       Meyers went 3-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Saturday's loss to the Brewers.

      Advice: Meyers was the only Astro with multiple hits in the contest, and his fifth-inning solo homer plated one of the team's two runs. The outfielder has gone deep in back-to-back games and has gone 6-for-10 with four RBI over his past three contests.       Advice: Freeman batted out of the leadoff spot for the sixth straight contest and broke out with the first four-hit game of his career. Among those knocks was a run-scoring double and a two-run single.     • Wenceel Perez drives in four runs to lead Tigers
      Wenceel Perez smacked a pair of triples and drove in four runs on Saturday night, leading the Tigers to a come-from-behind 8-3 victory over the Diamondbacks in Arizona.

      Advice: The 24-year-old outfielder walloped a two-out triple off of Zac Gallen in the opening inning, but was left stranded at third. He then cleared the bases with a two-out, three-run triple off of Joe Mantiply in the seventh that gave the Tigers their first lead of the day. He also tacked on a sacrifice fly in the eighth inning. Perez has been a revelation for the Tigers so far this season, slashing .300/.373/.533 with three homers, 12 RBI and three stolen bases in his first 102 plate appearances at the big league level.       Jake Meyers hit a solo homer in a loss to the Brewers on Saturday.

      Advice: Meyers got the Astros to within a run with a solo homer in the fifth off of Bryse Wilson. The outfielder also singled twice for a three-hit game, and it bumps his average up to .286.       Tyler Freeman went 4-for-4 with a double, a walk, three runs scored, three RBI and a stolen base against the Twins on Saturday.



      Advice: Freeman continues to occupy the leadoff spot for Cleveland despite a .221 average. The stolen base was his sixth of the season. It was a huge game for Freeman, who remains merely a deep league option.

      Steven Kwan (hamstring) took batting practice on Friday.

      Advice: Kwan has resumed baseball activities and is progressing well, according to Guardians manager Stephen Vogt. The 26-year-old contact-oriented outfielder remains without a firm return timetable, but it sounds like he could return to Cleveland’s lineup before the end of the month following a minor league rehab assignment.       Kwan (hamstring) participated in batting practice Friday for the first time since he went on the injured list, Tom Withers of the Associated Press reports.

      Advice: "He's progressing well," manager Stephen Vogt said before Friday's series opener against Minnesota. "Still don't have a timetable, but the fact that he's already back to baseball activity is a good sign. He's feeling well and been running relatively pain-free, so he's on a good track." Kwan was initially given a four-week timeline when he went on the injured list, so it's encouraging that he's resumed baseball activities halfway through that expected absence. The Guardians are likely to take things cautiously with Kwan given his history of hamstring issues, so it's unclear when he might be able to go out on a rehab assignment.
