    • Laces timely double Tuesday
France went 1-for-3 with a two-run double, a walk and a run in a win over the Athletics on Tuesday.

Advice: The veteran infielder squared up for a third-inning two-bagger that brought home J.P. Crawford and Josh Rojas with the first two runs of the night, France's eighth and ninth RBI over the last nine games. France has shown a bit more pop in his bat than usual during that span, posting four extra-base hits overall (two doubles, two home runs) on his way to a .333 average and 1.044 OPS across 36 plate appearances. The sample has also featured a welcome increase and drop in walk and strikeout rates, respectively, as he's drawn free passes at a 13.9 percent clip and struck out in a modest 16.7 percent of his plate appearances. • Homers in return from quad injury
Lewis went 1-for-1 with a home run and two walks in Tuesday's loss to the Yankees.

Advice: He got the start at third base in just his second game of the season after being injured Opening Day and missing nearly 10 weeks due to a strained right quad. Lewis is remarkably 3-for-3 with two home runs in those two games. It was a good sign for his health that he played defense as opposed to being eased into action at DH, but Lewis figures to get a day or two off over the next week as he gets back up to full speed. • X-rays negative
Initial X-rays on Murphy's right elbow came back negative after he was hit by a pitch during Tuesday's win over the Red Sox, Justin Toscano of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Advice: Murphy's elbow swelled up significantly immediately following the HBP, though he appears to have escaped the incident without suffering any structural damage. The catcher also said after Tuesday's game that he is confident he'll be able to avoid the injured list and get back to playing within a few days. Travis d'Arnaud would start behind the plate for any games that Murphy may have to miss. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 7:18 pm

    • X-rays come back negative on Sean Murphy’s elbow
Sean Murphy is day-to-day with a right elbow contusion.

Advice: The positive news here is that X-rays came back negative after Murphy was hit by a pitch on the right elbow during the ninth inning of Tuesday’s game against the Red Sox, which led to his removal from the contest. It doesn’t sound like he’s going to wind up missing too much time, if any. Rotoworld Tuesday, 6:58 pm

    • Royce Lewis homers against Yankees in return
Royce Lewis clubbed a solo homer and walked twice on Tuesday in the Twins’ loss to the Yankees.

Advice: Of course. Lewis made an immediate impact in his return to Minnesota’s lineup on Tuesday night in New York, taking Yankees veteran reliever Tommy Kahnle deep for a seventh-inning solo shot to left field. The 25-year-old reached base safely in all three of his plate appearances and has two homers in just two games played on the year. The central question for fantasy managers moving forward is whether he can stay on the field for an extended period to establish himself as an elite fantasy contributor at the hot corner. • Anthony Volpe extends on-base streak to 30 games
Anthony Volpe singled on Tuesday in the Yankees’ win over the Twins, extending his on-base streak to 30 consecutive games.

Advice: Volpe extended his on-base streak, which is tied with teammate Aaron Judge for the longest in baseball this season, by slicing a third-inning single into shallow right field before racing around the bases to score on Judge’s two-run double later in the frame. • Exits after HBP
Murphy was removed from Tuesday's game against the Red Sox after getting hit in the elbow by a pitch, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Murphy took a 92-mph fastball off the inner part of his right elbow, which had already exhibited significant swelling by the time he reached first base. Atlanta will take him into the clubhouse for a closer look and should have more information on his status in the near future, but it's possible the 29-year-old backstop sits out until the swelling goes down. • Sean Murphy leaves game following hit by pitch
Sean Murphy left Tuesday’s game against the Red Sox after being hit by a pitch.

Advice: Murphy appeared to get hit in the elbow area by a ninth-inning offering from Red Sox reliever Chase Anderson and was immediately lifted for a pinch runner. There should be an update on his status shortly after this one goes final at Fenway Park. Rotoworld Tuesday, 6:29 pm

    • Placed on IL with sprained ankle
The White Sox placed Pham on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with a left ankle sprain.

Advice: Pham suffered the injury during Sunday's 6-3 loss to the Brewers during the play at home plate involving William Contreras, which resulted in both benches clearing. It's not clear how long Pham might be sidelined. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 12:46 pm
