      Advice: Getting the start in center field and batting ninth, Kiermaier produced his first multi-hit performance since May 8. The veteran defensive whiz came into the game slashing a woeful .111/.135/.194 over 38 plate appearances in June with a 46.2-percent strikeout rate, and only a recent back issue for Daulton Varsho has given Kiermaier consistent starts again.       Advice: Moniak flipped the game on its head in the fourth inning, giving the Halos a three-run advantage after swatting his first career grand slam at the expense of Mitch Spence.       Advice: Moniak’s slam was a homer in only six ballparks, says Statcast, but that was mostly because of its low trajectory; Moniak crushed the pitch, which left his bat at 107.9 mph. He’s earned himself some extra playing time by hitting .254/.333/.475 in 66 plate appearances this month. He came in at just .169/.208/.242 over the first two months.       Henry Davis (concussion) will begin a minor league rehab assignment on Wednesday with Double-A Altoona.

      Advice: Davis landed on the concussion injured list back on June 15 and is apparently feeling well enough to get back into game action. The Pirates haven't indicated how long the 24-year-old's assignment might last, though it's possible he remains in the minors upon being activated after slashing just .153/.267/.235 across 101 major-league plate appearances this season.
