      According to The Enquirer’s Charlie Goldsmith, TJ Friedl (broken thumb) “continues to progress” and hopes to take “batting practice soon.”

      Advice: TJ Friedl is back to hitting off flips as he works back from a broken thumb. Once he is able to take batting practice, his next step will likely be live at-bats and a rehab assignment.       Friedl (thumb) has progressed to hitting flipped balls in the batting cage and hopes to be cleared to take batting practice soon, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

      Advice: Friedl is making a rapid recovery from a fractured left thumb, an injury he suffered just 11 days ago. If the outfielder is able to take batting practice soon, a brief rehab assignment should follow shortly after. He would appear on track for an early June return from the 10-day injured list.     • Jurickson Profar scores twice in victory over Reds
      Jurickson Profar doubled, walked, scored a pair of runs and collected an RBI on Wednesday as the Padres triumphed over the Reds.

      Advice: Profar worked Nick Martinez for a leadoff walk in the fourth inning and scored on a fielder’s choice off the bat of David Peralta. He also chased Martinez from the game with an RBI double in the fifth inning, then came around to score on a run-scoring single off the bat of Jake Cronenworth.       The White Sox placed Jimenez on the 10-day injured list Wednesday with a left hamstring strain.

      Advice: Jimenez tweaked the hamstring while running the bases in Tuesday's game in Toronto. The severity of the strain isn't yet known, so it's unclear how much time the designated hitter might miss.       White Sox placed DH Eloy Jiménez on the 10-day injured list with a strained left hamstring.

      Advice: So many leg injuries. Jiménez’s numbers aren’t great or even very good, but from an xwOBA perspective, he had really picked it up in recent weeks, and Statcast though he should have been slugging .465, rather than his current .381. The White Sox will put Gavin Sheets at DH while Jiménez is out, which at least will improve the defense. Corey Julks, Dominic Fletcher and Zach DeLoach will battle for at-bats in right.       Christian Yelich delivered a go-ahead two-run triple in the eighth inning on Tuesday, lifting the Brewers to a 7-5 win over the Marlins.

      Advice: Yelich came through in the clutch against his former organization by victimizing Marlins lefty A.J. Puk with a two-out triple to right field that put Milwaukee ahead for good in a back-and-forth slugfest.       Eloy Jiménez was removed from Tuesday’s game against the Blue Jays with a left hamstring strain.

      Advice: Not good. Jiménez is currently in the midst of an extended offensive slump and will almost certainly wind up requiring a trip to the injured list. The oft-injured 27-year-old outfielder simply hasn’t been able to stay on the field the last few years, which diminishes his appeal for fantasy managers, despite his immense talent.
