    • Trevor Williams strikes out eight in win over O’s
Trevor Williams struck out eight over five shutout innings on Tuesday in a win over the Orioles.

Advice: Williams got off to a strong start in this one, striking out eight of the first 15 batters he faced while allowing just one baserunner. It was a strong outing for Williams, whose eight strikeouts tied a career-high. He was pulled after 77 pitches, with short outings being par for the course for him this season. Williams lowered his ERA to 1.96 on the year and has allowed one earned run or less in five of his seven starts on the year. Williams will look to continue his hot start on Monday against the lowly White Sox. Rotoworld Today, 6:09 pm

    • Mixed results in season debut
Buehler allowed three runs on six hits and no walks while striking out four batters over four innings in a no-decision against Miami on Monday.

Advice: Buehler had a favorable matchup in his first major-league start since mid-June of 2022, as he squared off against the team with the third-worst record in baseball. That didn't seem to matter early, though, as the Marlins jumped on the right-hander for a pair of first-inning runs on a trio of singles. However, Buehler's fastball velocity averaged a solid 96.6 mph in the frame, per Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register, which foreshadowed him settling down to allow just one more run over the remainder of his outing. Not surprisingly, the 29-year-old wasn't pushed too hard in his return to the majors, as he was pulled after 77 pitches and four frames rather than being allowed to complete the fifth and qualify for the win. Assuming Buehler comes out of the start without any setbacks, Monday's outing will likely serve as a foundation on which he can build up to a higher pitch count moving forward. He's tentatively lined up to make his next start on the road in San Diego this weekend. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:22 pm
    • Walker Buehler goes four innings in season debut
Walker Buehler allowed three runs over four innings in a start Monday against the Marlins.

Advice: He allowed six hits with no walks, and he struck out four. Buehler didn’t get deep enough to qualify for the win, as he threw 77 pitches in his first start since June of 2022. The right-hander gave up a pair of run-scoring singles in the first and a homer to Nick Gordon in the second, but Buehler settled down nicely over the final two innings, and showed flashes of the ace hurler he was prior to Tommy John surgery. Buehler will try and work deeper in his next start, scheduled for Sunday against the Padres. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:30 pm
    • Officially activated
Buehler (elbow) was reinstated from the 15-day injured list ahead of Monday's start against the Marlins.

Advice: As expected, Buehler will toe the rubber Monday evening in his first MLB action since undergoing Tommy John surgery in August 2022. He cruised through five innings April 30 during his final rehab start with Triple-A Oklahoma City, surrendering one run while fanning five batters, but even so, expect the club to keep a close eye on the right-hander's pitch count in the series opener. • Walker Buehler (elbow) activated for start vs. MIA
Dodgers activated RHP Waker Buehler off the 15-day injured list.

Advice: Buehler will get a chance to make his first start in 20 months after recovering from Tommy John surgery. The right-hander was up to 75 pitches in rehab starts, and he should be able to work the necessary five innings to qualify for a potential win. Fantasy managers should absolutely give Buehler a chance if he’s still on the waiver wire. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:04 pm
    • Next outing will be at Triple-A
Pirates manager Derek Shelton said Monday that Skenes is scheduled to make another start with Triple-A Indianapolis this week, Alex Stumpf of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Skenes' last start with Indianapolis was his first this season on regular rest, and he wasn't as dominant as he had been, yielding two runs on three hits and a 4:2 K:BB over 4.1 innings. He threw 66 pitches in the outing. The top prospect's major-league debut should be coming sooner rather than later, but the Pirates have opted to give him at least one more start in the minors. Skenes boasts a 0.99 ERA and 45:8 K:BB across 27.1 frames in 2024. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:14 pm

    • Skenes will make yet another minor-league start
Paul Skenes is scheduled to pitch for Triple-A Indianapolis this week.

Advice: Fans and fantasy managers will have to wait yet another week, at least, before seeing Skenes make his MLB debut. The 21-year-old has made seven starts at Triple-A in 2024, posting a 0.99 ERA, 0.91 WHIP, and 45/8 K/BB ratio in 27 1/3 innings. The Pirates will, we assume, continue to lengthen him out in his starts until they feel comfortable enough that he can throw five or more innings in each start. Rotoworld Yesterday, 12:47 pm

    • Likely to be activated this week
Bradley (pectoral) has joined the Rays in Tampa Bay and is likely to be activated from the 15-day injured list to make his season debut later this week, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Advice: Bradley has been out all season with a right pectoral strain, but he looked good in two rehab starts, most recently yielding just one earned run across six innings while striking out eight with Triple-A Durham this past Friday. The exact date for Bradley's season debut hasn't yet been revealed, but he'll presumably take the hill sometime this weekend against the Yankees. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:31 pm

    • MLB updates ruling Friday
MLB changed the official scoring on a play during Friday's game, which left Houck charged with three earned runs over six-plus innings, not four, Peter Abraham of The Boston Globe reports.

Advice: A fielder's choice in the seventh inning was updated to a throwing error by catcher Reese McGuire. The ruling drops Houck's season ERA to 1.99 and gives him a sixth quality start. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:21 am
