    • Collects first win
King (1-1) pitched two scoreless and hitless innings, walking one and striking out one while earning the win Wednesday over the Orioles.

Advice: King provided much-needed length out of the bullpen following a rain delay that ended starter Kyle Gibson's day after four innings. King has kept runs off the board in six of his nine outings since he was recalled from Triple-A Memphis in early May. He's at a 2.13 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 9:2 K:BB over 12.2 innings while adding two holds and a blown save across 11 appearances. King isn't a regular part of the Cardinals' high-leverage mix, so his fantasy appeal remains low. Rotowire.com 29 minutes ago
    • Earns first career save
Fernandez allowed a run on two hits over one inning to earn the save in Wednesday's 5-4 win over the Orioles. He did not walk or strike out a batter.

Advice: Fernandez allowed a run on a sacrifice fly in the ninth inning, but a baserunning blunder by the Orioles' Cedric Mullins took the tying run off base. The save was Fernandez's first of his career, and he got the opportunity because most of the Cardinals' high-leverage relievers pitched earlier Wednesday to finish off Tuesday's suspended game. The rookie right-hander has done alright in a low-leverage role with a 3.48 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 24:7 K:BB over 20.2 innings while adding one hold and an 0-1 record. He's struggled a little lately with four runs allowed over his last 3.1 innings. Rotowire.com 42 minutes ago
    • Takes first loss Wednesday
Muller (0-1) took the loss in an extra-innings defeat at the hands of the Rockies on Wednesday, allowing two runs (one earned) on two hits over one inning.

Advice: Muller was entrusted with preserving a 2-2 tie when he entered in the 12th inning, but he faltered almost immediately by giving up a go-ahead two-run home run to Ryan McMahon with inning-opening runner Jake Cave aboard. Oakland would halve its two-run deficit in the home half of the frame but fall short of knotting the score back up, saddling Muller with his first loss. The southpaw sports a respectable 3.94 ERA and 1.18 WHIP, but he's allowed at least one run in nine of his 12 appearances. Rotowire.com 46 minutes ago

    • Back up from Triple-A
The Pirates recalled Hernandez from Triple-A Indianapolis on Thursday, Andrew Destin of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Advice: Hernandez has been effective during his time in the Pirates bullpen this season, allowing one run with a 4:3 K:BB over 4.2 innings. The 26-year-old will provide manager Derek Shelton with another left-handed relief option. Rotowire.com 49 minutes ago
    • Pirates call-up LHP Jose Hernandez from AAA
Pirates recalled reliever Jose Hernandez from Triple-A Indianapolis.

Advice: he Pirates need more depth in their bullpen right now, so Hernandez will take the place of Jack Suwinski, who was optioned on Thursday. The 26-year-old left-hander has a 7.62 ERA across 12 games in Triple-A but has been solid in his limited appearances for the Pirates, registering a 1.93 ERA across 4 2/3 innings. This figures to just be a short-term move for bullpen depth. Rotoworld 51 minutes ago
    • Rejoining rotation
Irvin will re-enter the Orioles' rotation following the injury to John Means (forearm), Matt Weyrich of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Advice: Each of Irvin's last two appearances have come in relief, but he's been terrific in seven starts this season, collecting a 2.90 ERA and 28:8 K:BB over 40.1 innings of work. Means' next turn comes up Monday in Baltimore against the Red Sox and Irvin would be on regular rest that day after throwing 3.1 relief innings in Wednesday's loss to the Cardinals. • Orioles call up reliever Heasley from minors
Orioles recalled reliever Jonathan Heasley from Triple-A Norfolk.

Advice: With John Means landing on the 15-day IL, the Orioles are calling up Heasley to add depth to their bullpen. The 27-year-old has thrown 4 1/3 innings with the Orioles this year and has an unsightly 12.46 ERA; however, he’s been much more effective in Triple-A with a 0.45 ERA and 0.70 WHIP in 20 innings, striking out 18 and walking just four. With Cole Irvin likely to take Means’ place in the rotation, Heasley could give the Orioles length out of the bullpen. Rotoworld Today, 9:25 am
    • Joins big-league bullpen
The Orioles recalled Heasley from Triple-A Norfolk on Thursday, Dan Connolly of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Heasley has been torched for seven runs (six earned) over 4.1 innings during his time with the Orioles this season. He's been much better at Norfolk, though, yielding just one run with an 18:4 K:BB in 20 frames. The right-hander should operate in middle relief. Rotowire.com Today, 9:16 am
    • Mariners send Cody Bolton to minors
Mariners optioned reliever Cody Bolton to Triple-A Tacoma.

Advice: With the team acquiring Michael Baumann from the Orioles yesterday, they needed to make space on the active roster, so Bolton will head to the minors. The 25-year-old had pitched to a 4.41 ERA and 1.29 WHIP in 16 1/3 innings but struck out just 14 batters while walking eight. He figures to get another shot later in the season.
