• Starts up rehab assignment
Puk (shoulder) made the second appearance of his rehab assignment with the Marlins' rookie-level Florida Complex League affiliate Monday, striking out two over a scoreless inning.

Advice: Puk has turned in identical two-strikeout perfect innings in the FCL since he started up his rehab assignment Friday. The left-hander broke camp as a member of the Miami rotation, but after turning in a 9.22 ERA and 2.63 WHIP over his four starts before landing on the injured list April 20 with shoulder fatigue, he'll work out of the bullpen once the Marlins activate him. Puk could settle into a high-leverage role in front of closer Tanner Scott right away upon his return to the big club. Rotowire.com 4 minutes ago

  • A’s likely to call up Osvaldo Bido on Weds
According to MLB.com’s Martín Gallegos, the Athletics will call up Osvaldo Bido to start one of the games in Wednesday’s doubleheader.

Advice: Bido has posted a 2.59 ERA and 1.24 WHIP in six games (five starts) for Las Vegas, striking out 39 and walking 13 in 31 1/3 innings. The 28-year-old former Pirate is not a recommended start against the Rangers but perhaps he can replace Joe Boyle in the rotation if he pitches well enough. Rotoworld 25 minutes ago

  • Kris Bubic will begin rehab assignment
Kris Bubic (Tommy John surgery) will begin a rehab assignment tomorrow.

Advice: Bubic has been on the shelf since undergoing Tommy John surgery last April. He’ll start his rehab assignment with a few games in the Arizona Complex League before moving to another affiliate; however, the exact progression has not been figured out yet. The 26-year-old has a 4.85 career ERA in 325 MLB innings but did look better in 16 brief innings in 2023 before getting hurt. Still, fantasy managers should wait and see how he looks in more than a few starts before giving him a shot on their rosters. Rotoworld 31 minutes ago

  • Likely to be activated this week
Bradley (pectoral) has joined the Rays in Tampa Bay and is likely to be activated from the 15-day injured list to make his season debut later this week, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Advice: Bradley has been out all season with a right pectoral strain, but he looked good in two rehab starts, most recently yielding just one earned run across six innings while striking out eight with Triple-A Durham this past Friday. The exact date for Bradley's season debut hasn't yet been revealed, but he'll presumably take the hill sometime this weekend against the Yankees. Rotowire.com 54 minutes ago

  • Bryan Woo could be activated this weekend
The Seattle Times’ Adam Jude suggests that Bryan Woo (elbow) could be activated form the IL this weekend to face the Athletics.

Advice: Woo was impressive in his last start at Triple-A, throwing 66 pitches while averaging 95.7 mph on his fastball. He now has a 17-to-0 strikeout-to-walk ratio in 11 1/3 scoreless innings across his three rehab appearances with Tacoma, while allowing just five hits. However, Jude notes that “the team wants to see how Woo feels over the next couple of days before finalizing plans to activate him.” With Emerson Hancock set to make his start against the Twins on Tuesday, his turn in the rotation would come up again this weekend against Oakland, and Woo could be activated to take his place. He certainly looks ready and Jude confirms that, “The club does not plan to go with a six-man rotation and would prefer to keep Hancock stretched out in Triple-A, as opposed to keep him in the majors to pitch out of the bullpen.” Rotoworld Today, 12:04 pm

  • Mets waive starting pitcher Max Kranick
Mets designated RHP Max Kranick for assignment.

Advice: The 26-year-old Kranick had not yet appeared in a game for the Mets this season, appearing in six games across three minor league levels while making his way back from a hamstring injury. He had allowed seven runs on 18 hits in 14 2/3 innings across those three levels. He was designated for assignment to make room for Yohan Ramirez, who the Mets claimed off waivers from the Orioles. • Removed from 40-man roster
The Mets designated Kranick for assignment Monday.

Advice: He'll give up his spot on the 40-man roster to right-hander Yohan Ramirez, who was claimed off waivers from the Orioles on Monday. Kranick has allowed four runs (two earned) with a 2:4 K:BB in seven innings with Triple-A Syracuse this season. Rotowire.com Today, 11:44 am

  • Set for live BP Tuesday
Giants manager Bob Melvin said Monday that Snell (thigh) will throw a three-inning live batting practice session Tuesday, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Advice: Snell was cleared to face hitters after a bullpen session Saturday went off without a hitch. The Giants will wait to see how the lefty responds to Tuesday's session before determining the next steps, but Snell is trending in a positive direction. Snell hasn't pitched in more than two weeks because of a Grade 2 left adductor strain. Rotowire.com Today, 11:38 am

  • Cast off 40-man roster
The Giants designated Jefferies for assignment Monday.

Advice: He'll cede his spot on the 40-man roster to right-hander Mason Black, who was called up from Triple-A Sacramento ahead of his scheduled start Monday versus the Phillies. Jefferies has made two appearances (one start) for the Giants this season, giving up nine earned runs on 14 hits and two walks over 4.2 innings. Rotowire.com Today, 10:09 am
