    Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said Sunday that he believes Perdomo (knee) will start hitting this week, Alex Weiner of Arizona Sports reports.

  • Goes deep in loss
    Merrill went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer in Sunday's 11-4 loss to the Diamondbacks.

    Advice: Merrill took Ryne Nelson deep to right center in the second to open up the scoring for the Padres and later notched a single off the bat at 102.4 mph. He's now tallied a hit in each of his last three games and has five RBI over that span after going on a mini slump to end the month of April.     Estrada went 1-for-3 with a two-run homer in Sunday's 5-4 loss to the Phillies.

    Advice: Estrada gave the Giants some late life with a two-run blast in the seventh off Taijuan Walker, which ultimately knocked him from the game. The 28-year-old is riding a five-game hit streak and has six RBI over his last four games.     Jackson Merrill went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer in a loss to the Diamondbacks.

    Advice: The rookie launched a 394-foot home run in the second inning and also had a 102.4 mph single later in the game. Merrill is more of a contact-oriented hitter, so the exit velocities are nice to see as we dream on his power upside. The 21-year-old is slashing .284/.333/.388 with two home runs and 16 RBI on the year.     Lindor went 2-for-6 with a two-run home run during Sunday's 7-6 extra-inning loss to the Rays.

    Advice: Lindor got the Mets on the board right away, clubbing a two-run shot off Ryan Pepiot as the third batter of the game. The long ball was Lindor's sixth of the season and marked his third time logging multiple RBI in his last four games.     Advice: Despite not tallying a hit, Caballero was all over the basepaths, reaching thrice via walk and becoming the third player since 2020 to accumulate four steals in a game.     Jose Caballero stole four bases and scored three runs without recording a hit Sunday against the Mets.

    Advice: Only against the Mets. Caballero walked three times today and also got a steal as the automatic runner in the 10th inning. He’s just the second player this millennium to steal four bases without getting a hit; Everth Cabrera did so for the Padres in 2012. Caballero leads the AL with 13 steals in 18 tries this season.   • Nico Hoerner leads Cubs past Brewers on Sunday
    Nico Hoerner doubled and drove in a pair of runs on Sunday, propelling the Cubs to a 5-0 victory over the visiting Brewers.

    Advice: Hoerner opened the scoring in the ballgame with a two-run double off of Freddy Peralta in the home half of the fifth inning. He then advanced to third on a ground ball and dashed home on a wild pitch with the Cubs’ third run of the day. The speedy 26-year-old infielder finished the afternoon 1-for-5 and is now hitting .282/.358/.397 with one home run, 10 RBI and four swipes through his first 34 games of the 2024 season.
