    Jake Bauers hit a grand slam off Nathan Eovaldi as the Brewers edged the Rangers 6-5 in 10 innings Wednesday.

    Advice: Midgame replacement Andruw Monasterio delivered the game-winning single in the bottom of the 10th. It was a little surprising to see Bauers start over Tyler Black today, but Pat Murphy seems to have made the right call. Bauers’ 444-foot slam was the first ever surrendered by Eovaldi.     Nolan Jones went 1-for-2 with a double on Wednesday in the Rockies’ loss to the Astros.

    Advice: It’s been a tough season for Jones on the heels of last year’s unexpected breakthrough campaign, but he’s starting to show some signs of life recently, hitting .279 (12-for-43) with one homer and one steal over his last 15 games.     Yandy Díaz went 2-for-4 with an RBI on Wednesday in the Rays’ loss to the Mariners.

    Advice: Díaz kicked off the scoring with a run-scoring single off Mariners starter George Kirby in the third inning, marking his eighth consecutive contest with an RBI since June 19.     Casas (ribs) took some swings in the batting cage Wednesday, Alex Speier of The Boston Globe reports.

    Advice: It was his first time hitting since he was diagnosed with a cartilage tear in his left ribcage in late April. Casas said he felt great but noted that the real test will be to see how sore he is Thursday. Previously, he had experienced lingering pain in the rib area when rotating his torso.     Advice: Solano will crack the starting nine for the fifth game in a row. The Padres are facing a left-hander (DJ Herz) for a third straight game, but San Diego could have room for both Solano and the lefty-hitting David Peralta in the regular lineup against right-handed pitching after Fernando Tatis' (quadricep) move to the injured list Monday opened up a spot.     Guardians recalled OF Jhonkensy Noel from Triple-A Columbus.

    Advice: Noel had an 1.156 OPS for Columbus this month, putting him at .295/.359/.578 with 18 homers for the season. It’s unclear how much of a role the Guardians will carve out for him versus righties, but he should definitely be the right fielder against lefties. He struggled to hit for average in previous years, and he’s a zero when it comes to steals, so he’ll need to keep showing plenty of power in order to be useful in fantasy leagues.
