    Lugo allowed two runs on six hits and three walks while striking out eight batters over 6.2 innings in a no-decision against Oakland on Thursday.

    Advice: Lugo held the A's scoreless until Zack Gelof tagged him for a two-run homer with two outs in the seventh inning. The blast tied the game, costing Lugo a chance at his 11th win of the campaign. The right-hander nonetheless notched his 12th quality start, which is tied for the MLB lead.   • Lugo allows two runs in no-decision on Thursday
    Seth Lugo allowed two runs in 6 2/3 innings and got a no-decision in the Royals’ 3-2 victory over the Athletics on Thursday.



    Advice: Lugo gave up six hits, walked three and struck out eight. He allowed a two-run game-tying home run to Zack Gelof in the seventh inning, but it was still another solid effort from Lugo. The 34-year-old right-hander is set to face the Marlins at home next week.

  • Dominant in fifth straight win
    Lodolo (8-2) earned the win Tuesday over the Pirates, allowing a run on four hits over seven innings. He struck out eight.

    Advice: A Ke'Bryan Hayes homer in the seventh inning was the lone mark against Lodolo on Tuesday as he earned his fifth straight win -- the left-hander hasn't allowed more than two runs in a start during that span. Overall, Lodolo's ERA is down to 2.76 on the year with a 1.01 WHIP and 70:15 K:BB across 65.1 innings.   • Nick Lodolo tremendous in win over PIT
    Nick Lodolo allowed one run on four hits in seven innings in a win over the Pirates on Tuesday.

    Advice: The left-hander struck out eight and didn’t walk a single batter on the day. He got 18 whiffs on 50 swings for a 36 percent whiff rate and 32 percent CSW on the day. He did a good job keeping his fastball upstairs and the curve low in the zone, which led to a 57 percent whiff rate on the curve alone. Lodolo has always showcased high upside but injuries have gotten in his way; yet, he now has a 2.76 ERA on the year with a good start against these same Pirates next week.   • Picks up fourth win
    Skenes (4-0) earned the win Monday against the Reds after he allowed one run in six innings. He gave up six hits, walked one and struck out seven.

    Advice: Skenes has been every bit as advertised over his first seven career starts, and he once again showed off an impressive repertoire Monday to get his fourth win. The rookie right-hander has now gone at least six innings in five of his seven starts, and he's reached at least seven strikeouts six times.   • Paul Skenes dominates again in seven-strikeout gem
    Paul Skenes struck out seven and allowed one run over six innings on Monday in a win over the Reds.

    Advice: Skenes got into trouble in the opening frame when he surrendered a run-scoring double to Spencer Steer, but managed to escape the frame without any additional damage, and went on to limit Cincinnati’s lineup to just five baserunners over his final five innings of work. The electrifying 22-year-old rookie induced an eye-popping 18 swinging strikes in this one, including nine on his splinker alone, and finished with a near-elite 34 percent CSW. He’s recorded at least seven strikeouts in six of his first seven starts since arriving in the majors back in mid-May. He’s the real deal. He’ll bring a sparkling 2.29 ERA, 0.99 WHIP and 53/7 K/BB ratio across 39 1/3 innings (seven starts) into a favorable matchup on Sunday against the strikeout-prone Rays.   • Lit up Sunday
    Wheeler (8-4) suffered the loss Sunday, allowing eight runs on nine hits and two walks over 4.1 innings against the Orioles. He struck out four.

    Advice: It was a long day for Wheeler, who allowed four homers after having previously allowed only six long balls over his first 14 starts this season. The eight earned runs allowed matched a career high for Wheeler, who hadn't given up that many in a start since 2018. Sunday's poor effort raised his ERA from 2.16 to 2.84. Wheeler had won his previous eight decisions prior to Sunday's loss, which dropped him to 8-4 on the season. He'll look to get back on track during his next start, currently slated to take place next weekend when the Diamondbacks come to Philly for a rematch of last season's NLCS.   • Mediocre in victory
    Berrios (6-5) picked up the win Sunday against Cleveland, allowing four earned runs on eight hits and zero walks while striking out one batter over six innings.

    Advice: Berrios was one out away from recording his 12th quality start of the season, but Daniel Schneemann launched a two-run shot with two outs in the sixth, the only extra-base hit yielded by Berrios. Over his past 10 starts, the 30-year-old has allowed a home run in nine of them, recording a 4.32 ERA and a 1.18 WHIP across 60.1 innings in that span.   • Zack Wheeler bombarded by Orioles
    Zack Wheeler allowed eight earned runs in 4 1/3 innings on Sunday in a loss to the Orioles. He struck out four and walked two.

    Advice: This was Wheeler’s worst start as a Phillie and the first time he’s allowed eight earned runs since 2018. Baltimore jumped on him with homers in each of the first three innings and then Jordan Westburg put the cherry on top with his three-run blast.
