• Handed loss Friday
Keller (0-1) allowed three runs on five hits and two walks over 4.2 innings Friday, striking out five and taking a loss against St. Louis.

Advice: Keller coughed up a pair of runs in the first inning but kept the Cardinals in check until he was charged with another run in the fifth. He forced 12 swinging strikes but needed 102 pitches to get through 4.2 frames. Keller registered a 4.50 ERA across three starts with Triple-A Charlotte before his promotion to the MLB level and it's unclear what role the White Sox plan on using him in moving forward. • Vidal steals two bags, doubles twice in loss
Vidal Bruján doubled twice and stole two bases in a loss to the Athletics on Friday.

Advice: Bruján drove in the only run of the game for the Marlins in the ninth with a double off Lucas Erceg. The pair of two-baggers with a single now have Bruján slashing .298/.377/.447, and the swipes are his first of the season. Especially with Luis Arraez heading to San Diego, Bruján should continue to see a lot of playing time, and so far he’s taken advantage of his run. Rotoworld Today, 9:07 pm

  • Starting bullpen game Saturday
Bernardino will open Boston's game versus the Twins on Saturday, Jahmai Webster of NESN reports.

Advice: Bernardino has started the year very strong, allowing only one earned run across 12.1 innings. His start Saturday will likely only last an inning or two before the Red Sox turn to their bullpen to finish the game. Rotowire.com Today, 9:06 pm
  • José Soriano fires six scoreless to beat Guardians
José Soriano delivered a strong performance in Friday night’s victory over the Guardians, allowing just five hits over six innings of shutout baseball.

Advice: The 25-year-old hurler punched out three batters on the evening while allowing one base on balls. All five of the hits that he allowed were singles. The only real threat against him came in the fifth inning as the Guardians put runners at first and third with one out, but he got Brayan Rocchio on a comebacker to the mound and ultimately retired Andres Gimenez on strikes to end the threat. Soriano got 10 whiffs on 88 pitches on the night, posting a CSW of 26 percent. He’ll attempt to further improve upon his 3.77 ERA and 1.29 WHIP when he does battle against the Pirates in Pittsburgh on Wednesday. Rotoworld Today, 8:33 pm

  • Swipes bag in return
DeLuca went 1-for-4 with a run scored, three RBI and a stolen base in Friday's 10-8 win over the Mets.

Advice: Getting the start in center field against lefty Jose Quintana and batting eighth in his 2024 debut, DeLuca made a big impact in his return from a hand injury. The 25-year-old figures to handle a short-side platoon role in a Tampa Bay outfield that remains in flux due to Josh Lowe's hamstring strain, and poor starts at the plate for Jose Siri (thigh/suspension) and Randy Arozarena. • Keller charged for three over 4 2/3 vs. Cardinals
Mitch Keller was charged for three runs while going 4 2/3 innings in a loss to the Cardinals on Friday.

Advice: Keller gave up five hits with two walks, and he struck out five. He gave up a pair of run-scoring doubles to Nolan Arenado, but outside of that, the 28-year-old pitched solidly for the most part. Keller will likely remain in the White Sox rotation and start against the Rays next week. Rotoworld Today, 7:46 pm

  • Sent to Miami in Arraez deal
The Padres traded Go, Dillon Head, Nathan Martorella and Jakob Marsee to the Marlins on Friday in exchange for Luis Arraez, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports.

Advice: The Padres signed Go to a two-year deal in January with the expectation that he would serve as a high-leverage option out of the bullpen. However, a poor performance during spring training caused the 25-year-old reliever to be optioned to Triple-A and later demoted again to Double-A San Antonio, where he has posted a 4.38 ERA and 1.49 WHIP alongside a 15:4 K:BB through 12.1 innings. The Marlins may be willing to give Go a chance in the majors given their depleted pitching staff and relatively weak bullpen, but his Double-A stats don't spark much optimism. • Collects first save
Beeks struck out two and gave up a solo home run in two-thirds of an inning Friday, recording his first save of the season in a 3-2 win over the Pirates.

Advice: With Justin Lawrence (paternity leave) away from the team, Rockies manager Bud Black called on Jake Bird to get the final out of the eighth inning and the first of the ninth, but the right-hander needed 25 pitches to do it and left a runner on base when he exited. Black then turned to Beeks to close things out, but the southpaw made things dicey by immediately serving up a two-run shot to Oneil Cruz before finally getting the job done. Lawrence should be back by the end of the weekend, and Beeks has never recorded more than two saves in a season in his career, but he does appear to have earned a spot in Colorado's high-leverage crew. Through 14 appearances and 16 innings, he's posted a 2.81 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 12:8 K:BB. Rotowire.com Today, 7:25 pm

  • Blanks Bucs for first win
Quantrill (1-3) picked up the win Friday, scattering three hits over 7.2 scoreless innings in a 3-2 victory over the Pirates. He struck out nine without walking a batter.

Advice: For the first time all season, the Rockies never trailed at any point in the game, and that was largely thanks to Quantrill. The right-hander generated 34 called or swinging strikes over his 99 pitches as he set a new season high in strikeouts -- in fact, the nine Ks were his highest single-game total since 2021, when he fanned 10 Tigers while with Cleveland. The quality start was Quantrill's fourth of the year in seven trips to the mound, but he got tagged for 15 runs over 14 frames in the other three. He'll take a 4.31 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 26:14 K:BB through 39.2 innings into his next start, which lines up to come at home next week against the Giants. Rotowire.com Today, 7:11 pm
