    • Looks set to join big club Thursday
The Reds announced Wednesday that Marte (suspension) has rejoined the team after completing his rehab assignment with Triple-A Louisville.

Advice: Marte won't be eligible to return from his 80-game suspension until Thursday's series opener in St. Louis, but since he's back in Cincinnati rather than sticking around in Louisville, the Reds are presumably preparing to add him back to the 26-man active roster ahead of their four-game series this weekend. The 22-year-old struggled to regain his timing at the plate during the rehab assignment, slashing .151/.151/.170 with no walks and a 28.3-percent strikeout rate over 12 games. However, after Marte posted an .822 OPS in 123 plate appearances in his first taste of the big leagues in 2023, the Reds look as though they'll allow him to iron out the kinks in the majors. He's seen action at third base, second base and shortstop during his rehab assignment and may have to settle for more of a utility role with the Reds initially until he performs well enough to warrant everyday playing time. • Getting Tuesday off
Flores isn't in the Giants' lineup for Tuesday's game against the Cubs, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Advice: Flores will take a seat Tuesday after going 0-for-4 with an RBI and a walk during Monday's victory. David Villar will take over at first base and bat eighth. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 3:39 pm

    • Sparks comeback with homer
Chapman went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, a double and two total runs scored in Monday's 5-4 win over the Cubs.

Advice: Chapman hasn't had a hitting streak longer than three games in June, and he's batting just .219 for the month. He's trending upward with multiple hits in two over his last three games, and he ended a 25-game homer drought with his fifth-inning blast Monday. The third baseman has a .233/.313/.394 slash line with nine long balls, 31 RBI, 50 runs scored, 20 doubles and six stolen bases through 76 contests this season. Rotowire.com Monday, 10:55 pm

    • Receiving first day off
Bell is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Royals.

Advice: Bell will hit the bench for the first time all season, ending a streak of 77 consecutive starts. He'll be getting a breather after he concluded the Marlins' weekend series versus the Mariners with a pair of hitless performances that brought his season-long average down to .246. Jake Burger steps in at first base in place of Bell. Rotowire.com Monday, 3:47 pm

    • Struggling on rehab assignment
The Reds haven't yet committed to activating Marte (suspension) when he's first eligible to return to the big club June 27, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Advice: Reds manager David Bell professes not to be paying attention to Marte's numbers during his rehab assignment at Triple-A Louisville as he continues the ramp-up process. Through the first 10 games of his assignment, Marte is hitting .156/.156/.178 with no walks and 13 strikeouts. If Marte can get back up to speed, the Reds could really use him both offensively and defensively at third base. Rotowire.com Sunday, 9:52 am

    • Sitting down Sunday
Flores isn't in the Giants' lineup for Sunday's game against the Cardinals, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Advice: Flores will sit for a second consecutive game Sunday after going 2-for-15 with a double and an RBI over his last five contests. Trenton Brooks will instead start at first base and bat eighth during the series finale. Rotowire.com Sunday, 9:08 am

    • Goes deep Saturday
Kim went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and an additional run in Saturday's 6-4 victory against Milwaukee.

Advice: Kim hit a fourth-inning solo shot that gave San Diego a 4-0 lead. The shortstop also singled in the contest, giving him his first multi-hit performance in over two weeks. Kim is slashing .231/.338/.462 with three homers, 12 RBI, nine runs, two stolen bases and an 11:8 BB:K through 20 games in June. Rotowire.com Sunday, 8:01 am

    • Busy day in loss
Chapman went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and a stolen base in a 9-4 loss to the Cardinals on Saturday.

Advice: Chapman singled, stole second and scored in the first inning, and then walked and scored again in the third. He later added another single in the eighth. This was Chapman's first multi-hit effort since June 4, but it's encouraging to see him active on the bases considering he missed two games to a hamstring injury June 9 and 10. On the season, the third baseman is hitting .232 with eight home runs, 30 RBI, 47 runs scored and a career-high six stolen bases in 285 at-bats. Rotowire.com Saturday, 7:11 pm

    • Ha-Seong Kim goes deep in victory over Brewers
Ha-Seong Kim crushed his 10th home run of the season as the Padres triumphed over the Brewers on Saturday evening in San Diego.

Advice: Kim tagged rookie right-hander Carlos Rodriguez for his two-out, 374-foot (97.5 mph EV) solo shot in the fourth inning — extending the Padres’ advantage to 4-0. Kim also singled and rode home on Kyle Higashioka’s two-run blast in the seventh inning, finishing the night 2-for-3. For the season, the slick-fielding 28-year-old is now hitting .220/.331/.390 with 10 long balls, 36 RBI and 15 stolen bases. Rotoworld Saturday, 7:00 pm
