    • Nick Gonzales with two more hits
Nick Gonzales went 2-for-5 with a run scored against the Blue Jays on Friday.

Advice: Gonzales has been a welcome surprise so far this season slashing .319/.377/.536 across 19 games. His nearly 17% barrel rate would be one of the best in the league if he were a qualified hitter and he should remain a regular for the offensively starved Pirates. Rotoworld 2 minutes ago

    • Mark Vientos goes 3-for-5 in start
Mark Vientos went 3-for-5 with two RBI in a 10-5 win over the Diamondbacks on Friday.

Advice: Vientos received a vote of confidence before this game with Brett Baty being sent down to the minor leagues. That gives Vientos full runway to be the Mets’ starting third baseman for the foreseeable future. He should firmly be on all fantasy radars with a .327/.377/.592 slash line in 49 at-bats this season. • Joc Pederson hits late three-run homer
Joc Pederson went 2-for-4 with a home run, four RBI, and two runs scored in a loss to the Mets on Friday.

Advice: Pederson’s ninth inning home run off Reed Garrett made this game much hairier than it probably should have been, but still wasn’t enough to fuel the Diamondback’s comeback. He’s had a great season to this point with a .952 OPS and seven home runs. Rotoworld 58 minutes ago

    • Jesús Sánchez homers, doubles twice for Marlins
Jesús Sánchez homered, doubled twice and walked Friday in leading the Marlins to an 8-2 defeat of the Rangers.

Advice: Finally. Sánchez increased his extra-base hit total by 50% tonight, going from six to nine. Statcast thinks he’s been one of the league’s unluckiest hitters and his hard-hit rate and strikeout rates are both better than his career norms, so odds are that his .657 OPS will continue to climb. Still, it’s going to be hard for him to be useful in mixed leagues while being platooned in a bad lineup. Rotoworld Today, 7:02 pm

    • Jake Burger goes 3-for-5 in win over Rangers
Jake Burger went 3-for-5 with a couple of runs scored Friday in the win over the Rangers.

Advice: Burger came into the night with a hideous .240 OBP, but the Marlins still had him hitting second in their lineup. Perhaps he’s starting to pull out of his slump; he has seven hits in his last three games, raising his average from .189 to .218. Rotoworld Today, 7:02 pm

    • Edmundo Sosa powers Phillies past Cardinals
Edmundo Sosa clobbered a two-run homer on Friday night, powering the Phillies to a 4-2 victory over the visiting Cardinals.

Advice: The 28-year-old shortstop capped off a three-run rally in the second inning with his mammoth 439-foot (110.0 mph EV) two-run blast on the first pitch that he saw from Miles Mikolas. That would be his only hit in three at-bats on the night. Sosa has been swinging a very hot stick for the Phillies — slashing .307/.378/.591 with four long balls and 15 RBI in his first 99 plate appearances. Rotoworld Today, 5:58 pm

    • Brandon Marsh drives in run in victory on Friday
Brandon Marsh went 1-for-3 with a double, RBI and a run scored as the Phillies triumphed over the Cardinals on Friday night in Philadelphia.

Advice: Marsh opened the scoring in the second inning as he drove in Alec Bohm with a ground ball to first base. He then smacked a one-out double in the seventh inning and raced around to score on a two-out single by Johan Rojas. On the season, the 26-year-old outfielder is now slashing .261/.331/.427 to go with six homers, 25 RBI and eight swipes. Rotoworld Today, 5:58 pm

    • Brandon Crawford leaves the yard in loss Friday
Brandon Crawford blasted his first home run as a member of the Cardinals on Friday night, but it wasn’t enough to lead his club past the Phillies in Philadelphia.

Advice: Crawford got the Cardinals on the board in the third inning with his 410-foot (102.2 mph EV) solo shot off of Phillies’ right-hander Aaron Nola. He also singled in the ballgame, finishing the night 2-for-2. On the season, the 37-year-old shortstop is slashing a pitiful .152/.222/.242 to go with his lone homer and one RBI on the season. • Nick Ahmed starting rehab assignment on Saturday
Nick Ahmed (wrist) will begin his minor league rehab assignment at Triple-A Sacramento on Saturday.

Advice: Ahmed has been sidelined since April 27 when he was struck on the wrist by a 108-mph line drive. Marco Luciano had been functioning as the team’s regular shortstop in his absence, but he landed on the injured list himself on Friday, so the team is now rolling with a combination of Brett Wisely and Casey Schmitt until Ahmed is ready to return. He should only need a couple of rehab games before he’s ready. Rotoworld Today, 4:59 pm
