    • Handed loss despite quality start
      Corbin (1-6) yielded two runs on six hits and three walks over six innings Friday, striking out five and taking a loss against Cleveland.

      Advice: Corbin coughed up a pair of runs in the third inning but otherwise worked around danger to deliver a quality start. It was his second straight quality start and third in 12 appearances this season. The veteran southpaw forced 13 swinging strikes, marking a new season best and his first time hitting double digits in that category since April 28.       Bailey Falter pitched a scoreless six innings in a no-decision against the Blue Jays on Friday. He struck out five, walked two, and allowed just two hits.

      Advice: Falter just keeps going. 79% of his pitches in this start were either fastballs or sinkers and the Blue Jays were completely helpless, reaching base just four times against him. We keep waiting for the other shoe to drop with Falter, but it hasn’t as the league can’t figure out how to square him up.       Sixto Sánchez yielded two runs in four-plus innings Friday in a no-decision against the Rangers.

      Advice: Sánchez, who went without a strikeout tonight, was pulled with a 4-1 lead after giving up a double and a single to start the fifth. Declan Cronin took over then and did a nice job in allowing only one of the runners to score.       Advice: The Dodgers needed to clear a spot on the active roster for Evan Phillips’ return on Friday night and unfortunately Hernandez was the odd-man out this time around. The 29-year-old hurler has posted an 8.38 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and a 6/3 K/BB ratio over 9 2/3 innings for the Dodgers this season. The 29-year-old Hernandez struggled heavily upon joining the big-league club May 15, allowing nine earned runs in just 9.2 innings of work.       Advice: With Zac Gallen (hamstring) headed for the 15-day injured list, Cecconi will come up from the minors in order to fill the open spot in Arizona's rotation. The 24-year-old righty has been inconsistent in the majors this season, giving up two runs or less three times but also allowing six earned runs during his other three outings.       Advice: He’ll replace the injured Zac Gallen (hamstring) on the team’s active roster. It’s unclear if the Diamondbacks plan to have Cecconi take Gallen’s spot in the rotation, or if he’s just there to provide depth and length in the bullpen for a few days while they sort out their rotation plans.       Fujinami, who was placed on the 15-day injured list May 13 with a right shoulder strain, is expected to be sidelined for six-to-eight weeks, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

      Advice: Fujinami was optioned to Triple-A Syracuse after struggling in spring training. Those struggles continued across his nine minor-league games, as he registered a 14.09 ERA and 3.33 WHIP across 7.2 innings before landing on the IL.
