    • Corey Seager hitless on Friday in return to lineup
Corey Seager (hamstring) went 0-for-3 on Friday in his return to the lineup.

Advice: Seager went 0-for-3 before being lifted for a pinch-runner in the late stages of Friday’s series opener against the Mariners. The Rangers have tried to be cautious with their 30-year-old superstar over the last few days as he attempts to play through a minor left hamstring issue. It wouldn’t be surprising to see him get a few extra maintenance days off moving forward in an effort to prevent the lingering issue from getting worse. Rotoworld 16 minutes ago
    • Joey Loperfido posts three hits Friday at Triple-A
Joey Loperfido went 3-for-5 with a triple and two RBI on Friday for Triple-A Sugar Land.

Advice: Loperfido doesn’t have a ton of professional experience at first base, but there’s an opportunity for him to carve out a role there after Houston’s front office abruptly cut ties with veteran José Abreu on Friday afternoon. The 25-year-old slugger has some contact issues that could limit his upside for fantasy managers, but he’s definitely going to hit for power with an everyday opportunity. It feels like it’s time for the Astros to see what they have since he has almost nothing left to prove at Triple-A. Rotoworld 28 minutes ago

    • Edouard Julien batting .171 at Triple-A St. Paul
Edouard Julien went 2-for-4 with a walk on Friday for Triple-A St. Paul.

Advice: Julien has struggled to a .171 (7-for-41) average with one homer in 10 games since being demoted to the minors earlier this month. The 25-year-old second baseman is going to get some extended time to iron things out in the minors and doesn’t appear close to returning to Minnesota at the moment. Rotoworld 32 minutes ago

    • Max Meyer strikes out four on Friday at Triple-A
Max Meyer struck out four and allowed two runs over four innings on Friday for Triple-A Jacksonville.

Advice: So much for the whole notion from Marlins manager Skip Schumaker that Meyer would be returning to the majors “soon.” While Miami’s starting rotation continues to struggle, Meyer hasn’t exactly delivered dominant performances his last few times out. Still, he’s a vastly superior option than the cromulent journeymen the Marlins keep throwing out there. It’s only a matter of time before the 25-year-old top pitching prospect gets another shot after having his workload closely monitored in the minors over the last few months. His fastball/slider combo remains outstanding and gives him a shot at immediate fantasy relevance once the Marlins finally decide to let him pitch in the majors again. • Brett Baty raises average to .519 at Triple-A
Brett Baty went 3-for-3 with an RBI on Friday for Triple-A Syracuse.

Advice: Baty has torn the cover off the ball since a late-May demotion to the minors, batting an absurd .519 (14-for-27) with three homers and 10 RBI in six games for Triple-A Syracuse. The 24-year-old former top prospect seems to be re-gaining some much-needed confidence at the dish and appears to be also adding some defensive versatility to his toolkit by spending some time at second base recently. It’s unclear when Baty will get another shot in New York, but he’s showed some encouraging signs over the last few weeks away from the spotlight in the upper minors. Rotoworld 46 minutes ago

    • Shane Baz strikes out eight on Friday at Triple-A
Shane Baz struck out eight and allowed one run over six innings on Friday for Triple-A Durham.

Advice: It’s time. Baz followed up last weekend’s 10-strikeout gem with another dazzling performance, allowing just four hits and one walk over six masterful frames. The 24-year-old top pitching prospect has completed his rehabilitation process from Tommy John surgery and appears poised to return to the majors at some point this month. He averaged 96.5 mph on his four-seam fastball in this one, while generating 14 swinging strikes and finishing with an astronomical 45 percent CSW. His ability to consistently generate whiffs on his fastball/slider combo will drive his fantasy appeal moving forward. Simply put, he should be rostered in all fantasy formats at this juncture. • Kris Bubic completes four frames in rehab finale
Kris Bubic (elbow) allowed two runs over four innings on Friday in a minor league rehab start for Triple-A Omaha.

Advice: Bubic struck out three and also issued three walks, needing 84 pitches (52 strikes) to complete four frames. The 26-year-old lefty’s minor league rehab assignment is up after this latest outing and it appears he’ll rejoin Kansas City’s starting rotation mix at some point next week. The big question for fantasy managers is whether he can come close to re-discovering the form that was starting to make him an intriguing option prior to undergoing Tommy John surgery. • Salvador Perez exits Friday with knee discomfort
Salvador Perez was removed from Friday’s game against the Dodgers with right knee discomfort.

Advice: Perez exited Friday’s contest in the eighth inning and told reporters afterwards that he felt a tweak in his right knee earlier in the game when he stood up quickly to catch a high fastball from Royals ace Cole Ragans. The 34-year-old ironman will presumably head for some additional testing and imaging to determine the severity of the issue if he’s not feeling better this weekend. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for the moment. Rotoworld Today, 3:02 am

    • Slugs seventh homer
Ramos went 2-for-3 with a three-run home run and two walks in Friday's 8-6 loss to the Angels.

Advice: Ramos collected his seventh multi-hit effort in 12 games in June. He's also posted five homers, 14 RBI and an 8:15 BB:K over that span. Ramos is up to a .314/.400/.529 slash line with seven long balls, 27 RBI, 14 runs scored and one stolen base over 140 plate appearances this season. He initially worked in the corner outfield spots, but the 24-year-old has started the last seven games in center field as he continues to solidify his place in the majors.
