      Advice: Littell fared better against the Red Sox the second time around, holding them to three hits Tuesday after yielding seven hits and four runs to Boston in his last start. Though the 28-year-old did surrender a solo homer to Jarren Duran, he tied his season high in strikeouts and fewer than two batters for the sixth time in his last seven starts.       Advice: Bradish likely had more in the tank after throwing 74 pitches (52 strikes), but there's virtually no chance he pitches when play resumes Wednesday. Bradish has looked dialed in through four starts so far, but he's yet to pitch past the fifth inning after having his workload managed following a UCL strain that shelved him for the first month of the season. The right-hander is at a 2.41 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 23:7 K:BB over 18.2 innings so far.       Advice: Javier’s stuff was well off tonight; he averaged just 90.4 mph with his fastball, which was down 1.5 mph from his previous average this season. He wound up with just one strikeout and three walks. All things considered, he was lucky to give up just the four runs.       Griffin Canning allowed two runs in five innings Tuesday in a no-decision against the Astros.

      Advice: The runs came on back-to-back homers from Kyle Tucker and Yordan Alvarez in the first inning. Canning was effective afterwards, though he ended the day with two strikeouts and three walks.       Advice: Although Schmidt's scoreless inning streak ended at 17.0 innings, he didn't allow more than three runs -- something he's yet to do this season. Dylan Moore inflicted all the damage on Schmidt, launching a two-run homer in the third inning. On the year, Schmidt boasts a 2.59 ERA with a 61:17 K:BB over 55.2 innings and owns his best strikeout rate since becoming a full-time big-leaguer in 2022.       Advice: Morton's last two starts have been against the Cubs, and they've managed to give him some control issues -- he walked seven batters over eight innings in those games. Tuesday's road outing was better than his start last Wednesday in Atlanta, but it still doesn't inspire a ton of confidence.       Advice: This really should have been worse, considering that Assad gave up two homers and walked five batters.       Charlie Morton was uninvolved in the decision against the Cubs on Tuesday after allowing two runs — one earned — in five innings against the Cubs.

      Advice: Morton matched his season high with eight strikeouts. In the entire history of MLB, only Nolan Ryan (five times), Randy Johnson, Roger Clemens and Orlando Hernández have managed to strike out at least a batter an inning at age 40 or over (min. 130 innings).
