    • On track for next start
Bassitt (neck) is listed as Toronto's probable starter for Sunday's game against the Pirates, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Advice: The veteran right-hander made an early exit from his start Monday against the White Sox after pitching through neck spasms for five scoreless innings. It doesn't appear to be an ongoing issue, and Bassitt will attempt to build on his scoreless-innings streak of 12 frames versus the Pirates. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 3:40 pm
    • Leaves early with neck spasms
Bassitt (5-6) prematurely left Monday's game against the White Sox with neck spasms, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports. He allowed five hits and zero walks while striking out seven over five scoreless innings, earning the win.

Advice: It was reported after the game that Bassitt was questionable to start due to the injury, but he toughed it out and pitched five dominant innings. It is encouraging that the 36-year-old was able to play through the injury, but the severity is still unknown. The right-hander will try to heal up for his next start, tentatively scheduled for this weekend versus Pittsburgh. Rotowire.com Monday, 5:59 pm
    • Dazzles in victory
Ryan (4-3) earned the win Monday against the Royals, allowing one run on four hits and no walks over seven innings. He struck out nine.

Advice: Ryan dominated the Royals, generating an impressive 15 whiffs en route to his nine punchouts. With Monday's effort, the 27-year-old righty collected his eighth quality start of the season. Overall, Ryan sports a 2.96 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 73:9 K:BB in 67 innings. He is tentatively scheduled to pitch against the Astros on the road in his next start. Rotowire.com Monday, 3:24 pm

    • Chris Bassitt deals with neck spasms during start
The Blue Jays said Chris Bassitt was pulled after five innings Monday because of neck spasms.

Advice: It was an issue before the game, and the Jays had set up a contingency plan in case Bassitt couldn’t go. Bassitt wound up pitching five scoreless innings for a win over the White Sox. Rotoworld Monday, 2:08 pm
    • Chris Bassitt strikes out seven to beat White Sox
Chris Bassitt recorded seven strikeouts over five shutout innings on Monday in a win over the White Sox.

Advice: Bassitt looked really sharp in his second consecutive outing against Chicago, scattering five hits and needing just 81 pitches (52 strikes) to complete five frames in this one. He generated 11 swinging strikes and finished with a solid 35 percent CSW. He’ll bring a pedestrian 4.03 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and 56/25 K/BB ratio across 60 1/3 innings (11 starts) into a home matchup on Sunday against the Pirates. Rotoworld Monday, 1:54 pm
    • Joe Ryan strikes out nine in win over Royals
Joe Ryan recorded nine strikeouts and allowed one run over seven innings on Monday in a win over the Royals.

Advice: Ryan authored yet another stellar performance on Monday afternoon at Target Field, carrying a shutout into the sixth inning before Kansas City finally broke through courtesy of a two-out RBI single from Vinnie Pasquantino. It was his highest single-start strikeout total since a 12-punchout performance back on April 13 against the Tigers as he induced 15 swinging strikes, including 11 on his fastball, and finished with a robust 33 percent CSW. He’s rapidly cementing his status as an upper-echelon fantasy contributor, having allowed three earned runs or fewer in 10 of his 11 starts at the outset of the season. He’ll bring a strong 2.96 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 73/9 K/BB ratio across 67 innings (11 starts) into a challenging road tilt on Saturday against the Astros. Rotoworld Monday, 1:38 pm

    • Suffers second defeat
Yamamoto (5-2) suffered the loss Sunday against the Reds, allowing four runs on six hits and two walks over five innings. He struck out eight.

Advice: Yamamoto was done in by a lack of run support combined with a tough-luck four-run third inning. Yamamoto recorded two outs in the third but an infield single by Jake Fraley extended the inning while loading the bases and was followed by consecutive two-run singles by Jonathan India and Nick Martini. The outing marked Yamamoto's first defeat since the first game of the season and came on the heels of an impressive five-game stretch where Yamamoto went 4-0 with a 2.25 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 31 strikeouts across 32 innings. His next start is scheduled to take place next weekend when the Dodgers welcome the division-rival Rockies to Chavez Ravine. Rotowire.com May 26, 4:30 pm
    • Fares well in road start
Nola allowed three runs (two earned) on five hits and two walks while striking out five over six innings in a no-decision versus the Rockies on Saturday.

Advice: Nola turned in his third straight quality start, which was his seventh such outing this year. He left the game on the hook for the loss, but the Phillies rallied ahead in the ninth inning. Nola has allowed six runs (four earned) over his last 22 innings, giving him a 3.04 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 65:20 K:BB through 71 innings across 11 starts this season. He's projected to make his next start at home versus the Cardinals. Rotowire.com May 25, 10:05 pm

    • Nola strikes out five in no-decision Saturday
Aaron Nola allowed three runs (two earned) in six innings and got a no-decision in the Phillies’ 8-4 victory over the Rockies on Saturday.

Advice: Nola pitched fairly well, but left the game with a 3-2 deficit so he didn’t qualify for the win in this one. He had won his previous two starts. Nola allowed five hits, two walks and struck out five. His ERA is now 3.04 on the season. The 30-year-old right-hander is set to face the Cardinals at home next week.
