    • Royce Lewis (quad) increases baseball activities
      Twins’ manager Rocco Baldelli told reporters on Friday that Royce Lewis (quad) has been progressing nicely in his recovery and has increased baseball activities in recent days.

      Advice: He’s now entering the fifth week of his recovery from a severe right quad strain and is tracking towards meeting that initial eight-week estimate that he was given when he sustained the injury. The dynamic 24-year-old infielder could rejoin the Twins’ lineup before the month of May concludes if he continues to avoid any setbacks. Rotoworld Today, 2:49 pm

      Lewis (quad) is on target to return around the original eight-week mark in late-May, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.

    • Adbert Alzolay gives up three runs to take loss
      After coming in with a 1-0 lead in the eighth, Adbert Alzolay gave up three runs on four hits to take a loss to the Brewers on Friday.

      Advice: All four hits were singles, and three of them were soft, coming in at 80 mph or less. Two were grounders perfectly placed in between Dansby Swanson and Nico Hoerner up the middle. To be fair, Alzolay was missing his spots, and he hurt his cause by paying no attention to the baserunners and giving up three steals. Obviously, this won’t help his chances of seeing saves again anytime soon.       Yamamoto (3-1) earned the win over the Diamondbacks on Wednesday, allowing five hits and two walks over six scoreless innings. He struck out five.

      Advice: Yamamoto allowed the leadoff man to reach in back-to-back innings to open the contest but still managed to keep Arizona's lineup at bay over six frames. The right-hander has now hurled 12 scoreless innings over his last two starts and has won each of his last three decisions after imploding in his MLB debut.       Bassitt (2-5) took the loss Wednesday, giving up three runs on four hits and a walk over six innings as the Blue Jays fell 6-1 to the Royals. He struck out four.

      Advice: The veteran righty took a no-hitter into the sixth inning, but a leadoff double by Kyle Isbel kicked off a three-run frame for Kansas City, and with Seth Lugo also pitching extremely well, Bassitt had no margin for error. He tossed 62 of 92 pitches for strikes in his third quality start of the season, but Bassitt will carry a shaky 5.45 ERA, 1.68 WHIP and 34:18 K:BB through 36.1 innings into his next outing, which is scheduled to come on the road next week in Philadelphia.       Steer went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and a stolen base during Wednesday's 6-2 loss to San Diego.

      Advice: Steer advanced to a perfect 8-for-8 on steal attempts this season and belted his fourth home run of the campaign -- and his first since April 6 -- off of Joe Musgrove in the first inning.       Schwarber went 2-for-4 with a two-run single and a stolen base during Wednesday's 2-1 win over the Angels.

      Advice: Schwarber knocked in both the Phillies runs, plating J.T. Realmuto and Whit Merrifield in the second inning. He even swiped second base after the run-scoring single, marking his second pilfer of the campaign.       Nico Hoerner went 2-for-3 with a double, a walk, and a stolen base on Wednesday in a 1-0 win over the Mets.

      Advice: Hoerner knocked a double in the first inning, then a single in the fifth. He drew a walk in the eighth to reach for a third time and stole second for his second steal of the season. Hoerner has hit out of the leadoff spot for the Cubs over the last two weeks, with both steals coming over that span. The 26-year-old second baseman is hitting .272/.349/.360 with 18 runs scored across 129 plate appearances. Hitting leadoff would help his stolen base rate if he can hold the top spot in the lineup.       Kyle Schwarber smacked a two-run single on Wednesday, lifting the Phillies to a 2-1 victory over the Angels.

      Advice: Schwarber’s second-inning two-run single off Angels southpaw Patrick Sandoval represented Philadelphia’s only offensive production of a low-scoring contest out in Los Angeles.
