  • Austin Riley stays hot with another homer
Austin Riley went 2-for-3 with a home run, two runs scored, and two walks on Friday against the Yankees.

Advice: Riley’s OPS has climbed from .618 to .744 in exactly one week. That is truly remarkable. It already feels like his putrid April and May will be a distant memory soon. If there was any question, the buy-low window on Riley has slammed shut. Rotoworld 28 minutes ago
  • Paul Sewald shuts down Phillies for ninth save
Paul Sewald pitched a clean ninth inning on Friday to earn the save.

Advice: There must be something about the city of Philadelphia or Citizens Bank itself that just calms Sewald because he did on Friday what he did four times in the last NLCS: shut the Phillies down. David Dahl did put a ball to the warning track, but it was to no avail. Sewald has not allowed a run in 14 straight appearances this season. Rotoworld 34 minutes ago
  • Trea Turner hits first home run off IL
Trea Turner went 2-for-4 with a homer and three RBI in a loss to the Diamondbacks on Friday.

Advice: Turner has hit safely in all three games since returning from his hamstring injury yet this home run was his first extra-base hit. He smacked it 110.6 MPH off the bat, two MPH harder than he’s hit a ball all season. That’s a welcome sight because his power lagged before the injury with just three home runs in April before going down. Rotoworld 35 minutes ago
  • Homers, drives in three in loss
Turner went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI in a 5-4 loss to the Diamondbacks on Friday.

Advice: Turner hit a two-run home run off Jordan Montgomery in the third inning then added an RBI single with the bases loaded in the seventh. Turner has gone 5-for-14 since returning from the injured list with a hamstring injury, and the homer was his first since April 17. He has been excellent when healthy this season, slashing .344/.389/.470 with three home runs, 12 RBI, 29 runs scored and 10 steals over 162 plate appearances. Rotowire.com 35 minutes ago
  • Joc Pederson homers, on-base three times Friday
Joc Pederson went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and walk on Friday against the Phillies.

Advice: Pederson, Lourdes Gurriel, and Gabriel Moreno all jumped on Taijuan Walker for third inning home runs in this one. Pederson has been a revelation for managers in daily leagues this season with a .927 OPS against right-handers as a mainstay in the heart of Arizona’s lineup. Rotoworld 36 minutes ago
  • Taijuan Walker struggles again, allows three homers
Taijuan Walker allowed four earned runs in four innings of work on Friday against the Diamondbacks. He struck out three and walked three en route to the loss.

Advice: Walker’s dreadful season continued in this one. He had fewer whiffs than homers allowed which is all you need to know about this start and his season overall. It’s notable that Spencer Turnbull followed Walker in long-relief. He settled the game down and made this appearance exactly five days after his last long-relief appearance where Walker’s next appearance is likely coming in five days from this game. Turnbull had a strong April in the rotation with Walker on the IL and it’s difficult to find a reason that Walker would be more effective than Turnbull in that role going forward. • Exits game with elbow soreness
Gurriel exited Friday's game against the Phillies due to left elbow soreness.

Advice: Gurriel appeared to have sustained the injury during his at-bat in the top of the seventh inning, per Jesse Friedman of GoPHNX.com. He's the second Arizona player to leave Friday's game, with catcher Gabriel Moreno leaving in the sixth inning due to a sprained left thumb. Before exiting, Gurriel went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in the second inning. He was replaced by Randal Grichuk, who came into the game in right field with Jake McCarthy shifting to left. • Four hits, three RBI in win
Iglesias went 4-for-5 with three RBI and a run scored in Friday's 11-1 win over the Cubs.

Advice: Iglesias was active early, singling and scoring a run in the second inning, hitting an RBI single in the third and adding a two-run single in the fourth. He later added another base hit in the seventh. Iglesias has gone an impressive 14-for-32 with six RBI and five runs scored in his return to the majors while primarily starting at second base against left-handed pitchers. • Lourdes Gurriel Jr. leaves game with sore elbow
Lourdes Gurriel Jr. was removed from Friday’s ballgame against the Phillies due to left elbow soreness.

Advice: The 30-year-old slugger opened the scoring in Friday’s game with a solo homer off of Taijuan Walker in the second inning and finished the night 2-for-4 before being lifted in the eighth inning. Expect the Diamondbacks to provide an update on his status — and a potential timeline for his return — following the conclusion of Friday’s game. Rotoworld Today, 6:48 pm
