    Advice: From the jump Cease just didn't have his best stuff on Sunday, he allowed the first four hitters to score after serving up homers to Francisco Lindor and Pete Alonso. The 28-year-old gave up a season-high seven runs in what was his shortest outing of the campaign. After pitching to a 2.19 ERA over his first eight starts, the righty has run into a rough patch giving up at least three runs in six of his last seven starts and seeing his ERA climb to 3.95 in the process.     Finnegan picked up his 20th save of the season Sunday against Miami, allowing one hit and zero walks while striking out one in a scoreless ninth inning.

    Advice: Finnegan preserved a 3-1 Nationals lead to notch his 20th save of the season, third in the league behind only Ryan Helsley and Emmanuel Clase. The 32-year-old has been outstanding, compiling a 1.78 ERA and a 0.86 WHIP across 30.1 innings, converting 20-of-22 save chances. Rotowire.com 30 minutes ago
  • Megill picks up 13th save against Reds Sunday
    Trevor Megill pitched a scoreless ninth inning and picked up the save against the Reds on Sunday.

    Advice: Megill’s save was his 13th of the year filling in for Devin Williams. In the ninth inning, with two men on and two outs, Megill gave up a single to Santiago Espinal on a line drive to center. However, outfielder Blake Perkins threw out Stuart Fairchild at home to end the game. It ended up being a scoreless inning for Megill, who lowered his ERA to 2.14 on the season.     Megill (2-3) pitched five innings to get the win Sunday vs the Padres. He gave up two runs on five hits, while walking two and striking out five.

    Advice: Megill worked around jams in the first and fifth innings to pick up his second win in his last three starts. The 28-year-old righty has struggled getting deep into games, as he's only pitched more than five innings in one of his six starts this season.   • Montas allows three in no-decision Sunday
    Frankie Montas allowed three runs in five innings and got a no-decision against the Brewers on Sunday.

    Advice: Montas gave up four hits, walked three and struck out five. He’s won only one of his last 11 starts and has only three quality starts in 13 starts this year. Three years removed from a season with 207 strikeouts and a 3.37 ERA, Montas is just about off the fantasy radar at this point. The 31-year-old right-hander is set to face the Red Sox at home next week.

    Parker (5-3) picked up the win Sunday against Miami, allowing one earned run on six hits and zero walks while striking out four over six innings.

    Advice: Parker's excellent rookie season continued as he turned in another quality start, his fourth over his past six games. During that span, the southpaw has pitched to a 3.03 ERA, a 1.04 WHIP and a 25:8 K:BB across 35.2 innings. While Parker doesn't typically post high-strikeout totals, he has been remarkably consistent all season, allowing three earned runs or fewer in all 12 of his starts.   • Dylan Cease chased early against Mets
    Dylan Cease allowed seven earned runs in just 3 2/3 innings on Sunday against the Mets. He struck out five, walked three, and was tagged with the loss.

    Advice: The Mets jumped all over Cease with a four-run first inning and sent him packing before he could finish four innings. His command was poor overall and he served up meatballs to Francisco Lindor and Pete Alonso that found the seats.   • Tylor Megill solid over five innings in win
    Tylor Megill allowed two earned runs across five innings on Sunday against the Padres. He struck out five and walked two en route to his second victory.

    Advice: Megill’s growth over the past few weeks has been nice to watch. Still fastball dominant, Megill has done a great job developing a bevy of passable secondary pitches to supplement his strong heater. He generated at least one whiff on six different pitches Sunday - five of which had exactly one whiff - while mostly staying out of trouble.   • Rea picks up sixth win against Reds Sunday
    Colin Rea allowed three runs (two earned) in six innings and got the win in the Brewers’ 5-4 victory over the Reds on Sunday.

    Advice: Rea gave up four hits, walked one and struck out six. The win was his sixth of the year and he’s now won two starts in a row. Rea made two errors on pickoff throws, which contributed to one of his runs allowed being unearned. Despite his success this year, nothing has really changed from his profile last year when he had a 4.55 ERA for Milwaukee. The 33-year-old right-hander is set to face the Padres on the road next week.
