    • Pitches around trouble for save
McArthur allowed two hits and struck out two without walking a batter in a scoreless inning to earn the save in Saturday's 5-3 win over the Athletics.

Advice: McArthur allowed back-to-back singles to begin the ninth inning, but he retired the next three batters to secure his 11th save of the year. He's allowed multiple baserunners in four of his last six outings, but he's converted his last four save chances. McArthur is at a 4.35 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 23:3 K:BB through 20.2 innings this season. • Strikes out 10 in win
Lugo (7-1) earned the win Saturday over the Athletics, allowing two runs on six hits and a walk while striking out 10 over 5.2 innings.

Advice: Lugo was able to limit the damage to a two-run home run by Seth Brown in the second inning. This was Lugo's second straight start with double-digit strikeouts, though he came up one out short of a fifth straight quality start. The right-hander is now at a 1.79 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and 58:13 K:BB through 65.1 innings over 10 starts this season. He's projected to make his next start on the road against the Rays. • McArthur picks up 11th save Saturday
James McArthur allowed two hits, struck out two and picked up his 11th save against the Athletics on Saturday.

Advice: McArthur allowed back-to-back singles to start the ninth inning before getting Abraham Toro to line out and striking out JJ Bleday. He then struck out Brent Rooker with the game on the line. McArthur’s ERA is 4.35, but he continues to rack up the saves for Royals and fantasy managers. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:56 pm
    • Lugo strikes out 10, picks up seventh win Saturday
Seth Lugo allowed two earned runs and struck out 10 in 5 2/3 innings and picked up the win in the Royals’ 5-3 victory over the Athletics on Saturday.

Advice: The win was Lugo’s seventh of the season and his ERA is 1.79. His 58 strikeouts are in the top 15 for qualified starters. The Royals can’t ask for more than what they’re getting from him right now and the same goes for fantasy managers. The 34-year-old right-hander is scheduled to face the Rays on the road next weekend.

    • Melts down in Miami
Diaz allowed four runs on four hits while recording just one out in Saturday's loss to the Marlins.

Advice: The Mets handed the ball to Diaz with a four-run advantage in the bottom of the ninth inning. He permitted a leadoff double and watched that run come around on a one-out single. Another single put two runners on and Josh Bell cashed in when he sent a ball 428 feet to center field for a three-run homer. Mets manager Carlos Mendoza pulled Diaz at that point. While this didn't officially go down as a blown save, it continued an ugly stretch for Diaz, who has allowed 10 runs over his last eight appearances covering 8.1 frames. When asked after the game about a potential change at closer, Mendoza didn't dismiss it, per Mike Puma of the New York Post. Diaz himself even said he'd be open to working in low-leverage spots for a while as he tries to get back on track. If Mendoza does opt to switch things up, Reed Garrett and Adam Ottavino look to be the top candidates to step in at closer. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 5:40 pm
    • Diaz blows lead again
Edwin Diaz allowed four runs and only recorded one out against the Marlins on Saturday.

Advice: Diaz entered the game with a four-run lead so it wasn’t technically a save situation, but he once again couldn’t hold the lead for the Mets. It’s his third straight appearance with a blown lead. Diaz allowed an RBI single to Jazz Chisholm and a game-tying three run home run to Josh Bell. His ERA is now 5.50 on the season. Diaz has been an elite closer in the past, but we’re at the point where he might need to be removed from the closer role temporarily.

    • Devin Williams (back) plays catch on Saturday
Devin Williams (back) played catch on Saturday without any issues.

Advice: It’s the first time that the 29-year-old right-hander has thrown since being shut down in spring training due to a pair of stress fractures in his back. He isn’t expected to rejoin the Brewers’ bullpen until mid-July — that’s if everything goes smoothly in his throwing progression — but the fact that he has a ball in his hand once again is obviously an encouraging sign. • Throws bullpen session
Phillips (hamstring) threw another bullpen session Saturday, Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Advice: Saturday's mound session was Phillips' second since landing on the injured list May 5 with a strained right hamstring. He still has yet to face live hitters, but manager Dave Roberts said after Phillips' session that the right-hander is roughly a week away from rejoining Los Angeles' bullpen. • Plays catch Saturday
Williams (back) played catch before Saturday's game against the Astros, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Advice: Saturday marks the first time Williams has done any sort of throwing since being shut down during spring training due to multiple stress fractures in his back. The 29-year-old closer still has a long way to go before the Brewers can think about sending him out on a minor-league rehab assignment, but he is certainly trending in the right direction. He's expected to rejoin Milwaukee's bullpen near the All-Star break. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:15 pm
