Crochet came away with a no-decision in Sunday's 5-4 loss to the Rockies in 14 innings, striking out 11 over seven frames while allowing two earned runs on five hits and zero walks.

Advice: After Crochet had thrown 85 and 91 pitches in his prior two starts, White Sox manager Pedro Grifol said Tuesday that the lefty's workload was "going to start dwindling" moving forward while the White Sox look to prioritize his long-term health. Even though he was mowing down the Colorado lineup for most of the afternoon, Crochet was still pulled after tossing 88 pitches and covering seven innings. If Crochet's pitch count continues to hover around the 85-to-90 range in his future starts, it could hurt his chances of coming away with wins, though he's notched only six wins through his first 18 starts while he's been supported by a weak White Sox lineup. Even so, Crochet remains a must-start fantasy option as long as he's active, as he's thus far provided elite ratios whenever he's taken the hill. The southpaw now owns a 3.02 ERA, a 0.93 WHIP and a league-leading 141 strikeouts over 101.1 innings this season. He's tentatively scheduled for a road start in Miami next weekend. • Crochet records 11 strikeouts in no-decision
Garrett Crochet allowed two runs in seven innings and got a no-decision against the Rockies on Sunday.

Advice: Crochet gave up five hits, walked none and struck out 11. He was excellent once again. Both runs Crochet allowed came in the second inning when the Rockies scored on a balk and a sacrifice fly. Otherwise, he dominated with 11 strikeouts and now has a 3.02 ERA on the season. Crochet continues to make his case for the American League Cy Young award. In his last 11 starts, he has a 1.48 ERA, 0.84 WHIP and 94 strikeouts in 66 2/3 innings. The 25-year-old left-hander is set to face the Marlins on the road next weekend.

    • Yonny Chirinos can’t get out of fifth inning
Yonny Chirinos allowed three earned runs across 4 1/3 innings of work on Sunday. He struck out four, walked one, and the Phillies had nine hits.

Advice: Given a large lead early, Chirinos could not get through this injury-ravaged Phillies lineup. They made lots of hard contact and ignited their huge comeback before he was chased from this game. Chirinos is unexciting filler in the Marlins’ decimated rotation. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:59 pm
    • Promoted, should pitch Sunday
Roupp (undisclosed) was recalled from Triple-A Sacramento on Sunday, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Advice: The 25-year-old was on the injured list at Triple-A Sacramento with an unspecified injury, but he'll join the Giants after making three rehab starts in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League. Roupp has a 5.27 ERA and 12:8 K:BB across 13.2 innings for San Francisco this season. According to Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle, Roupp is expected to cover about three innings behind opening pitcher Spencer Bivens against the Dodgers on Sunday. • Giants recall Landen Roupp from Triple-A
Giants recalled RHP Landen Roupp from Triple-A sacramento.

Advice: Roupp is back and could be inline for work as a bulk option for the Giants with Spencer Bivens starting Sunday’s contest against the Dodgers. The right-hander has a 5.27 ERA in his 13 2/3 innings with San Francisco prior to being demoted at the beginning of May. Spencer Howard was designated for assignment to make room on the roster. • Mets select contract of Matt Festa from Syracuse
Mets selected the contract of RHP Matt Festa from Triple-A Syracuse.

Advice: Festa linked on with the Mets in May on a minor-league deal, and he’ll now have a chance to make his season debut. The right-hander will be a middle-inning option while he’s with the club. Tylor Megill was sent down to Triple-A Syracuse to make room on the roster. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:54 am

    • Joins big club
The Mets selected Festa's contract from Triple-A Syracuse on Sunday.

Advice: Festa joined the Mets on a minor-league contract in May after being released from his minors deal with the Padres. The right-hander will receive a look in the big leagues after he posted a 1.76 ERA in 11 outings with Syracuse. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:48 am

    • Notches 12th save
Scott struck out two in a perfect ninth inning Saturday to record his 12th save of the season in a 3-2 win over the Phillies.

Advice: The southpaw delivered his eighth straight scoreless appearance on 12 pitches (eight strikes), and Scott has racked up four saves in four trips to the mound over the last week. The 29-year-old closer has put his shaky start to 2024 firmly behind him, and he sports a 1.50 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 38:23 K:BB through 36 innings while converting 12 of 14 save chances. • Nails down 12th save
Hader struck out two in a perfect inning to earn the save in Saturday's 9-6 win over the Mets.

Advice: The Astros' late comeback resulted in a save chance, and Hader converted with ease. He's picked up five saves over 11 outings in June while surrendering four runs and posting a 16:1 K:BB across 10.2 innings for the month. Overall, he's 12-for-13 in save chances with a 3.68 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 59:11 K:BB through 36.2 innings this season, with the Astros' mediocre play being the main reason for his reduced saves total, though the team is trending up by going 9-2 over the last two weeks.
