    • Recalled from Triple-A
The Cubs recalled Thompson from Triple-A Iowa on Saturday, Taylor McGregor of Marquee Sports Network reports.

Advice: Thompson will provide a fresh arm for a bullpen that was needed to cover 7.1 innings Friday. He holds a 4.97 ERA and 19:6 K:BB over 12.2 relief innings during his time with the Cubs this season. Rotowire.com 5 minutes ago
    • IL move made official
The Cubs placed Wick on the 15-day injured list Saturday with a right oblique strain, Taylor McGregor reports.

Advice: Wicks had to be pulled from Friday's start against the Cardinals in the second inning due to the injury. It's not clear what grade the strain is, so it's difficult to project a return date. Typically, though, even low-grade oblique strains result in longer than a minimum stay on the IL. Kyle Hendricks will slide into Wicks' rotation spot. Rotowire.com 11 minutes ago

    • Cubs recall Keegan Thompson from Triple-A
Cubs recalled RHP Keegan Thompson from Triple-A

Advice: Thompson posted a serviceable 4.97 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 19/6 K/BB ratio across 12 2/3 innings (nine appearances) earlier this season for the Cubs. The 29-year-old righty provides Chicago’s bullpen with some extra long relief depth moving forward. Rotoworld 12 minutes ago
    • Back in big leagues
Vespi was called up from Triple-A Norfolk on Saturday.

Advice: Vespi will return to the major-league bullpen after being sent down June 6, replacing Kyle Bradish (elbow) on the Orioles' roster following Bradish's placement on the 15-day injured list Saturday. The left-hander has made two appearances with Baltimore this season, tossing two scoreless innings while allowing two hits. Rotowire.com 16 minutes ago

    • Cubs put Jordan Wicks (oblique) on 15-day IL
Cubs placed LHP Jordan Wicks on the 15-day injured list with a right oblique strain.

Advice: Wicks suffered the injury during Friday’s start against the Cardinals and is likely to wind up missing at least a couple weeks, even in a best-case scenario. It’ll probably be Kyle Hendricks taking his spot in Chicago’s starting rotation since they don’t really have a ton of alternatives at the moment. Rotoworld 16 minutes ago

    • Placed on 15-day IL
Bradish (elbow) was placed on the 15-day injured list with a right UCL sprain Saturday.

Advice: Bradish pitched five frames in Friday's 5-3 loss to the Phillies in extra innings, leaving the contest with right elbow discomfort, which is now understood to be due to the much-despised UCL. The 27-year-old missed the first month of the season with a UCL sprain, so he's likely set to miss more than the minimum 15 days and could be out until after the All-Star break. Left-hander Nick Vespi was called up from Triple-A Norfolk to replace Bradish on Baltimore's major-league roster in a corresponding move Saturday. Cade Povich appears to be the most likely candidate to replace Bradish in the starting rotation. Rotowire.com 22 minutes ago

    • Orioles recall Nick Vespi on Saturday
Orioles recalled LHP Nick Vespi from Triple-A Norfolk.

Advice: Vespi gets the call back to the majors with Kyle Bradish heading to the injured list with a UCL sprain in his right elbow. The 28-year-old lefty has made a pair of relief appearances this season for the Orioles. Rotoworld 22 minutes ago

    • O’s put Kyle Bradish on IL with right UCL sprain
Orioles placed RHP Kyle Bradish on the 15-day injured list with a right UCL sprain.

Advice: Not good. Bradish lands on the injured list after being removed from Friday’s start against the Phillies with right elbow discomfort. The primary concern here for fantasy managers is that Bradish missed time earlier this year due to a UCL sprain in his right elbow, which caused him to miss all of spring training and the first month of the season. There should be an update on his status at some point in the near future, but the 27-year-old righty could be facing a lengthy absence. It’s a significant hit to Baltimore’s starting rotation and a massive loss for fantasy managers as well. Rotoworld 24 minutes ago

    • Handed loss Friday
Webb (1-4) allowed two runs (one earned) on one hit and one walk while striking out one over one inning to take the extra-innings loss versus the Phillies.

Advice: Alec Bohm delivered a two-run double in the 11th inning, and the Orioles couldn't produce a fourth comeback in the contest. That play ended an 11-inning scoreless streak for Webb, who has been steady in a setup role for Baltimore this season. Overall, he has a 1.95 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 29:15 K:BB while adding two saves and seven holds across 32.1 innings. Webb's 4.2 BB/9 is not outside of his usual level of performance but is still high, so he may have trouble sustaining his strong ratios over a full season. Rotowire.com 32 minutes ago
