    • Bailey Ober allows three homers, six earned runs
      Bailey Ober struggled against the Royals allowing nine hits, three homers, and six earned runs across five innings in a loss. He struck out four and didn’t walk a batter.

      Advice: Nelson Velázquez took Ober deep twice on nearly identical belt-high pitches. Salvador Perez did the same on another pitch that was practically down the middle. Ober also imploded against the Royals in his first start of the year allowing eight earned runs in just 1 1/3 innings.     • Kutter Crawford struggles again in loss to O’s
      Kutter Crawford struggled again in Wednesday’s loss to the Orioles, giving up five runs on four hits over six innings of work.

      Advice: The right-hander punched out five batters on the night while issuing a pair of walks. All of the scoring against him came in the second inning, as Ramon Urias smacked an RBI single and then Gunnar Henderson changed the game with a 422-foot grand slam. Crawford rebounded nicely to finish the day with four scoreless frames, but the damage had already been done. The 28-year-old hurler got 10 swings and misses on 96 pitches on the night, posting a CSW of 22 percent. He’ll look to bounce back as he carries a 3.29 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and a 66/22 K/BB ratio (68 1/3 innings) into Tuesday’s matchup against the Braves. Rotoworld Wednesday, 7:06 pm

      Sanchez (3-3) earned the win Wednesday, holding the Giants to four hits and one walk over six scoreless innings. He struck out seven.

      Advice: It was another impressive effort from Sanchez, who's now held opponents to two runs or fewer in eight of his 11 starts this season. The 27-year-old left-hander lowered his ERA to 2.83 with a 1.39 WHIP and 56:20 K:BB across 60.1 innings.       Cristopher Sánchez recorded seven strikeouts over six shutout innings on Wednesday in a win over the Giants.

      Advice: Sánchez had little trouble carving up a San Francisco lineup that has been one of the better in baseball this season against left-handed pitching, scattering four hits and one walk, needing just 96 pitches (68 strikes) to complete six frames. The 27-year-old lefty notched at least seven punchouts for the fifth time in 11 starts this season, inducing 11 swinging strikes and finishing with a solid 34 percent CSW. He’ll carry a strong 2.83 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and 56/20 K/BB ratio across 60 1/3 innings (11 starts) into a home outing on Tuesday against the Brewers. Rotoworld Wednesday, 3:25 pm

      Luzardo (2-4) took the loss Tuesday against the Marlins, allowing three runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out four in six innings.

      Advice: Luzardo managed to reach six innings for a third consecutive start, but never had a shot for a win after the Marlins were shut out. The Padres quickly got to him in the first with a two-run blast from Jurickson Profar and then Profar notched another RBI in the fifth. It was the first time Luzardo has allowed runs in the opening frame this season.       Gausman (4-3) picked up the win Tuesday against the White Sox, allowing one run on four hits and a walk over six innings. He struck out three.

      Advice: Gausman was sharp Tuesday, yielding one run and fewer than five hits for a second straight start to tally his fourth win in his last six outings. However, he snapped a streak of four consecutive outings with six or more Ks and yielded three extra-base hits. Gausman has allowed one or fewer earned runs in six of his last eight starts but owns a 4.14 ERA on the year. He's tentatively scheduled for a start against Baltimore on Monday.       Kevin Gausman allowed one earned and four hits over six innings while earning the win on Tuesday against the White Sox.

      Advice: Gausman didn’t face much resistance in this one, as the Blue Jays grabbed an early 3-0 lead in the second, which more or less put Gausman in cruise control against one of the league’s worst offenses. Gausman earned a win in three of his five stars this month, and will have a chance to start June off on a strong note when he makes his next scheduled start on Monday against the Orioles.     • Jesús Luzardo takes loss following quality start
      Jesús Luzardo lost Tuesday after allowing three runs in six innings against the Padres.

      Advice: Even a third straight scoreless outing wouldn’t have gotten Luzardo a win tonight, as the Marlins were shut out by the Padres. At this point, Luzardo is just playing out the string until an inevitable midseason trade. He’ll take a 2-4 record and a 4.18 ERA into his next start versus the Rays.     • Another quality start Saturday
      Gilbert gave up one run on three hits over six innings in a no-decision against the Nationals on Saturday. He struck out four without walking a batter.

      Advice: Gilbert allowed a run in the second inning on a couple singles, a stolen base and a sacrifice fly, but that was the extent of the damage. While his efforts weren't rewarded with a win, Gilbert continued his run of strong pitching with a third consecutive quality start since his eight-run hiccup in Minnesota on May 9. Gilbert is tied with Jose Berrios and Seth Lugo for the most quality starts in baseball this season with nine in 11 turns to date. Rotowire.com May 25, 11:48 pm
