      Gilbert (3-2) allowed three runs on four hits and three walks while striking out seven over 6.2 innings to take the loss Tuesday versus the Royals.

      Advice: Gilbert allowed just four baserunners over the first six innings. He went back out for the seventh, but two walks and a Nelson Velazquez home run ended his outing in unfortunate fashion. It's a significant improvement on the eight-run fiasco he had in Minnesota in his last start, but it's still a second straight loss for 27-year-old. He's pitched to a 3.07 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 61:18 K:BB over 58.2 innings across nine starts this season. Gilbert is projected for a tough road start versus the Yankees his next time out.     • Logan Gilbert takes loss in quality start
      Logan Gilbert lost to the Royals after allowing three runs in 6 2/3 innings Tuesday.

      Advice: All of the runs scored on Nelson Velázquez’s homer with two outs in the seventh, after which Gilbert was immediately removed. Obviously, it was an unfortunate conclusion, but it was still a nice rebound outing after he gave up eight runs last time out versus the Twins. Gilbert struck out seven and got 18 missed swings, tied for the second-highest total from any starter tonight (Joe Ross, at 21, was tops). Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:25 pm
       
    • Allows season-high four runs
      Crawford (2-2) suffered the loss Monday, allowing four runs on seven hits and one walk over six innings against the Rays. He struck out six.

      Advice: Crawford did not allow a long ball after having allowed one each over his past two starts (none over his first six outings) but did serve up three extra-base hits on his way to allowing four earned runs for the first time this season. A two-out triple in the first inning by Amed Rosario was the biggest blow while a fourth inning double by Jose Caballero set up Tampa's fourth run and ultimately served as the deciding run that sent Crawford to his second defeat. Despite the relatively subpar effort, Crawford maintains a high-quality 2.24 ERA that he'll take into his next start, tentatively slated to take place over the weekend when the Red Sox head to St. Louis for an inter-league matchup against the Cardinals.     • Cristopher Sánchez gives up three runs vs. Mets
      Cristopher Sánchez allowed three runs over 5 2/3 innings on Monday in a no-decision against the Mets.

      Advice: Sánchez finished with five strikeouts and also issued three walks. It’s fairly impressive that he was able to get into the middle innings of this one after the Mets got to him for three runs over the first two frames. The 27-year-old lefty will bring a serviceable 3.43 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 39/18 K/BB ratio across 42 innings (eight starts) into a home matchup on Saturday against the Nationals.     • Kutter Crawford strikes out six in loss to Rays
      Kutter Crawford was charged with four runs over six innings on Monday in a loss to the Rays.

      Advice: Crawford struck out six and only issued one walk. He got into trouble right away with two outs in the opening frame when he gave up a two-run triple to Amed Rosario and a run-scoring single to Richie Palacios. A fourth-inning sacrifice fly from Jose Siri was enough to saddle him with a loss in a low-scoring showdown at Fenway Park. He’ll bring a strong 2.24 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 52/16 K/BB ratio across 52 1/3 innings (nine starts) into a road tilt on Saturday against the Cardinals. Rotoworld Monday, 7:15 pm
       
    • José Berríos completes seven frames in no-decision
      José Berríos allowed two runs over seven innings on Monday in a no-decision against the Orioles.

      Advice: Berríos struck out four and only handed out one free pass. He limited Baltimore’s exciting lineup to just three hits over seven frames with a pair of Adley Rutschman solo homers accounting for all of the damage against him in this one. It was a much-needed rebound effort for the 29-year-old righty after being torched for eight runs over 3 2/3 innings his last time out against the Phillies. He’ll bring a solid 2.82 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 42/16 K/BB ratio across 54 1/3 innings (nine starts) into a home outing on Sunday against the Rays. Rotoworld Monday, 7:08 pm
       
    • Bounces back with quality start
      Berrios did not factor into the decision Monday against the Orioles, allowing two runs on three hits and one walk over seven innings. He struck out four.

      Advice: Berrios allowed two solo homers to Adley Rutschman but otherwise only allowed one additional single through seven quality innings. It was a nice bounce-back performance for Berrios, who was lit up for eight runs in his last start against the Phillies after having allowed just seven runs total through his first seven appearances. He will carry a 2.82 ERA and 1.05 WHIP into his next start, tentatively scheduled to take place over the weekend when the Blue Jays host the Rays. Rotowire.com Monday, 6:42 pm
       
    • Victorious in return
      Bello (4-1) picked up the win Sunday, allowing two runs on four hits and two walks over five innings against the Nationals. He struck out one.

      Advice: Bello picked up right where he left off before going on the IL with a lat injury, tallying a third straight win and yielding fewer than three earned runs for a fourth consecutive outing. The two runs charged against Bello came in the fourth when Eddie Rosario swatted a two-run home run. Despite the long ball, Bello was extremely efficient, getting through five innings on 68 pitches.     • Electric versus Blue Jays
      Ober (4-1) earned the win after he pitched 6.1 scoreless innings, allowing one hit while striking out 10 batters in Sunday's 5-1 victory over Toronto.

      Advice: Ober was nearly perfect Sunday, allowing just a single to Vladimir Guerrero in the bottom of the fourth inning, while his 10 punchouts were a season high. The right-hander has now recorded four quality starts over eight outings this season. Since allowing eight runs against the Royals in his season debut, Ober has produced a 2.16 ERA with 44 strikeouts over 41.2 innings in his last seven starts.
