    • Quantrill allows two runs in no-decision
      Cal Quantrill allowed two runs in five innings and got a no-decision in the Rockies’ 4-3 victory over the Brewers on Thursday.



      Advice: Quantrill gave up five hits, walked four and struck out two. He gave up two runs on a two-run single by Andrew Monasterio in the fourth inning. His ERA is 3.77, but with a 4.38 xFIP and 74 strikeouts on the season he’s tough to stream while pitching half of his games at Coors Field let alone roster. The 29-year-old right-hander is set to face the Reds on the road next week.

      Advice: Rodriguez earned his first multi-hit effort and swatted his first homer in 15 games. During the slump, he went just 7-for-56 (.125) while failing to log an extra-base hit or RBI. Rodriguez's recent poor play has seen him bounce around the lineup in an effort to get his bat going -- he hit fifth Thursday but had batted seventh in the previous two games.     • Julio Rodríguez blasts first homer since June 15
      Julio Rodríguez went 2-for-4 with a solo homer and also stole a base on Thursday, powering the Mariners to a 7-3 victory over the Orioles.

      Advice: Rodríguez connected for his first homer since June 15 when he launched a towering 428-foot blast to left field off Orioles ace Corbin Burnes in the fifth inning. It was his eighth round-tripper of the season and a much-needed sign for the 23-year-old superstar, who has been mired in a season-long tailspin at the dish. The absence of over-the-fence pop has been the most alarming trend in his sudden decline, so this performance certainly qualifies as a step in the right direction.       Paredes went 1-for-3 with a solo homer and two walks in Wednesday's 4-2 loss to the Royals.

      Advice: Paredes took Michael Wacha deep in the opening frame for an early 1-0 lead. He and Amed Rosario were the only Rays to get on base multiple times in the game as Paredes drew multiple walks for the first time since May 17. He's now racked up five extra-base hits, reached base a total of eight times and driven in four runs over his last three games. Paredes is enjoying another productive campaign after breaking out last year, slashing .276/.365/.481 with 14 homers, 46 RBI, 33 runs and a 35:57 BB:K in 342 plate appearances in 2024.     • Anthony Volpe out of the leadoff spot Thursday
      Anthony Volpe is batting sixth on Thursday against the Reds.

      Advice: It’s the first time since April 10th that Volpe will be in the lineup and not be leading off. However, it appears to be a move that was a long time coming. Since Volpe moved into the leadoff spot, he has had the worst on-base percentage among every Yankees player with at least 250 plate appearances. He also ranks as the third-worst leadoff hitter in baseball with his 87 wRC+. Considering the Yankees’ lead-off hitter bats in front of Juan Soto and Aaron Judge, the team needs somebody who can consistently get on base and be driven in by those two studs.       Advice: O'Hearn reached in each of his first three trips to the plate, smacking a two-run double in the third and a solo homer in the fifth, with the latter extending Baltimore's lead to four runs. It was the first baseman's third consecutive game with multiple hits, while he's also reached safely in 15 straight.
