    • Juan Soto swipes two bases as Yankees defeat O’s
      Juan Soto singled, walked and stole a pair of bases as the Yankees triumphed over the Orioles on Wednesday evening in Baltimore.

      Advice: Soto smacked a one-out single off of Corbin Burnes in the top half of the first inning and swiped second base before being stranded there. He then worked a leadoff walk in the sixth inning, and once again nabbed second before being thrown out trying to steal third.     • Seth Lugo holds Jays to one run, earns fifth win
      Seth Lugo pitched seven innings of one-run ball in defeating the Blue Jays on Wednesday.

      Advice: Lugo fanned eight today, giving him 17 strikeouts in his last two outings. He totaled just 14 in his first five starts of the year, so this is a big improvement. That he opened up 3-0 with a 1.05 ERA looked like a fluke, given where his stuff was at, but these last two wins have seemed quite a bit more legitimate. Rotoworld Today, 2:49 pm
       
    • Zach Eflin gives up three runs in defeat
      Zach Eflin dropped to 1-4 after giving up three runs in 5 2/3 innings Wednesday against the Brewers.

      Advice: Eflin struck out six and walked none. The big blow was a William Contreras two-run double on a pitch a good four inches inside with two outs in the second. Another batter likely would have fouled that one off, but Contreras is just too good. Fortunately, Eflin won’t face anyone like him with the White Sox coming to town next week.     • Yandy Díaz goes 0-for-5 in loss to Brewers
      Yandy Díaz finished 0-for-5 in the loss to the Brewers on Wednesday.

      Advice: Díaz did reach on an error, but he was credited with four groundouts and one flyout today. His groundball rate is currently checking in at 62%, well above his already problematic career mark of 53%. Hopefully, it’s something he can straightened out in the next few weeks. If not, it looks like we’re back to the Díaz of 2019-21, when he was a valuable major leaguer but one without much to offer in fantasy leagues. Rotoworld Today, 1:49 pm

    • Falls to Milwaukee
      Eflin (1-4) took the loss Wednesday against the Brewers, allowing three runs on six hits over 5.2 innings. He struck out six.

      Advice: Eflin allowed a two-run double to William Contreras in the third inning before allowing a solo homer to Willy Adames in the sixth. The 30-year-old Eflin's now been stuck with a loss in consecutive starts -- he's allowed seven earned runs over 11.2 innings in that span. Eflin's ERA is now up to 4.17 with a 1.17 WHIP and 36:4 K:BB in seven starts this year. He'll look to get back on track in his next outing, currently scheduled for next week against the White Sox.       Fraley is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Padres.

      Advice: For the second straight day, Fraley finds himself on the bench with a right-handed pitcher (Joe Musgrove) on the hill. The Reds haven't indicated that Fraley is nursing an injury, but the outfielder has thus far struggled to bounce back since returning to the lineup after a week-long absence due to an illness. In his first three games back in action, Fraley went 0-for-11 with five strikeouts.     • Freddy Peralta suspended five games
      Freddy Peralta was suspended five games after hitting Jose Siri on Tuesday.

      Advice: Peralta was having another stellar outing for the Brewers on Tuesday and the only run he allowed was a home run from Jose Siri. Later in the game, Peralta hit Siri in the sixth inning which was deemed an intentional act by the home plate umpire and led to his ejection, as well as Milwaukee manager Pat Murphy. Peralta will appeal the five-game suspension handed to him by Major League Baseball, while Murphy was given a two-game suspension which he is serving starting on Wednesday.     • Gets five-game ban, will appeal
      Peralta was suspended five games by Major League Baseball on Wednesday for intentionally throwing at the Rays' Jose Siri in Tuesday's 8-2 win, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. He'll appeal the suspension.

      Advice: The right-hander was ejected from Tuesday's contest after the umpiring crew concluded that Peralta threw at Siri intentionally one plate appearance after Siri had hit a home run. Since Peralta is appealing the suspension, he should be able to make his next scheduled start on Sunday against the Cubs, if the appeal process isn't completed before then.       Estrada went 0-for-3 with a stolen base in Wednesday's 4-0 loss to the Red Sox.

      Advice: Estrada reached on an error and recorded his first steal of the year to get into scoring position, though he was left on base. Considering he logged a combined 44 steals over the previous two seasons, it's unusual that he's been less active on the basepaths. It doesn't help that he's batting just .229 with a .248 on-base percentage for the year, though those numbers improve to .291 and .316, respectively, over the last 16 games.
