      Advice: Butto pitched well in the outing, notching his third quality start of the campaign and racking up 15 swinging strikes. However, he was outshined by impressive rookie Shota Imanaga, who had another dazzling performance with seven scoreless frames. Despite the loss, Wednesday's effort should continue to keep Butto's name on the minds of fantasy managers who are looking to improve their rotation.       Will Smith went 1-for-5 with a solo homer on Wednesday against the Diamondbacks.

      Advice: Smith’s only hit of the game left the yard on Wednesday as he took Jordan Montgomery deep for a solo shot to lead off the third inning.     • José Buttó strikes out six in quality start vs. Cubs
      José Buttó allowed one run with six strikeouts across six innings in a loss against the Cubs on Wednesday.

      Advice: Buttó was excellent on Wednesday, holding Chicago to just one run in a quality start. A double and a wild pitch put a runner on third in the fifth inning before Pete Crow-Armstrong drove in the run on a sacrifice fly. It was the third time in five starts Buttó has gone six innings with no more than one run allowed.       Austin Riley went 2-for-4 with a two-run triple on Wednesday, leading the Braves to a 5-2 victory over the Mariners.

      Advice: Riley scalded a 102.7 mph opposite-field triple off the right-field wall in the fourth inning to give Atlanta a commanding four-run lead at the time. The 27-year-old fantasy stalwart hasn’t exactly set the world ablaze in the opening month of the year, batting .235 with just two homers in 29 contests to date, but he’s still got plenty of time to get it going.     • Timely hit in Tuesday's win
      Machado went 1-for-5 with a three-run double in Tuesday's 6-4 win over the Reds.

      Advice: Machado stepped up to the plate in the fifth with the bases juiced and cleared them all with a double to center field. That was his first extra-base hit since April 14 and his first multi-RBI game since April 12. He's tallied a hit in four of his five games since being reinstated from the paternity list and is now slashing .250/.304/.388 with four homers, 16 RBI, 16 runs and a 9:29 BB:K in 125 plate appearances.     • Stuck with loss Tuesday
      Lopez (2-1) took the loss Tuesday against the Mariners, allowing three runs on six hits and two walks while striking out seven over five innings.

      Advice: Lopez struck out the side to begin his night en route to tying his season-high in strikeouts. He pitched well overall, but there was not much he could do with Atlanta not scoring until the eighth inning. His one costly mistake came in the third after allowing a two-run blast to Jorge Polanco and the Mariners would tack on a third run in the fourth, which proved to be the deciding run in the game. Tuesday was the first time Lopez had failed to pitch at least six innings and surrender more than a run. He's now given up a home run in back-to-back outings. Still, the 30-year-old has been nothing short of spectacular through the first month, posting a 1.50 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 31:10 K:BB in 30 innings.     • Spencer Turnbull solid for 5 1/3 innings
      Spencer Turnbull yielded two runs — one earned — in 5 1/3 innings Tuesday in a no-decision against the Angels.

      Advice: This will likely be Turnbull’s final start for a while, as Taijuan Walker’s return has restored the Phillies’ planned rotation. Still, Turnbull seems like a better bet than Walker going forward, and while it’s unlikely that he’d hold up over the course of 32 starts, he might be a fantasy factor again later this year.     • Reynaldo López allows three over five in loss
      Reynaldo López allowed three runs in five innings while picking up a loss Tuesday to the Mariners.

      Advice: López allowed six hits over those five frames, and he struck out seven while walking three with Josh Rojas getting all three free passes. The 30-year-old pitched better than his line suggested, but a two-run homer by Jorge Polanco turned an excellent outing into a shaky one from a fantasy perspective.       Anderson didn't factor into the decision Tuesday, allowing three runs on five hits and two walks over six innings against Philadelphia. He struck out six.

      Advice: Anderson secured his fourth quality start of the campaign Tuesday and logged at least six K's for a second consecutive outing. All of the damage against Anderson came in the second inning when Kyle Schwarber launched a three-run homer.
