    • Riley smacks two doubles in win over Tigers Monday
Austin Riley went 2-for-3 with two doubles and a run scored against the Tigers on Monday.

Advice: Riley is now 8-for-13 (.615) with three doubles, three home runs, eight RBI and two walks over his last four games. He’s had a down season so far, but seems to be pulling out of it. Riley’s average is up to .243 with a .712 OPS on the year. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:59 pm

    • Power surge continues
Riley went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and a second run scored in Sunday's loss to the Rays.

Advice: The third baseman erupted out of a slump to homer in three straight games against Tampa Bay, racking up six hits and eight RBI in the three-games weekend series. Even with the power surge, Riley has only six home runs and 28 RBI on the season, but he's topped 30 homers and 90 RBI in each of the past three seasons. The 27-year-old is capable of going on a tear that would have him back on his usual pace before the end of June. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:35 am

    • Austin Riley heating up, homers again
Austin Riley went 2-for-4 with a game-tying two-run home run and two runs scored on Sunday against the Rays.

Advice: Congratulations to all the fantasy managers who kept their patience with Riley because the hot streak is officially here. He homered in every game this weekend and has raised his OPS from .618 to .695 since Friday. Rotoworld Sunday, 1:26 pm

    • Gets ejected Sunday
Machado was ejected from Sunday's game against the Mets in the sixth inning for arguing balls and strikes. He went 1-for-3 with an RBI and two strikeouts.

Advice: Padres manager Mike Shildt was also tossed from the game after leaving the dugout to argue with the home plate umpire. Machado slammed his bat in frustration with the called third strike but didn't make any contact with the umpire, so he shouldn't be subject to any further punishment from MLB. • Manny Machado, Mike Shildt ejected Sunday
Manny Machado was ejected from Sunday’s game against the Mets.

Advice: Machado and manager Mike Shildt were both ejected after Machado objected — correctly — to a called strike. It’s unlikely that either will face suspension. Rotoworld Sunday, 12:43 pm
    • Returns to third base Saturday
Machado started at third base and went 0-for-4 in a loss to the Mets on Saturday.

Advice: Machado recently missed four games due to a strained right hip flexor and was limited to DH duties in four straight contests following his return. The veteran was able to resume playing the field Saturday, though he didn't look like he was up to full speed while running out a grounder in the seventh inning. It's unclear how much the hip issue is bothering Machado, as he's batting just .200 (4-for-20) with no runs or RBI and seven strikeouts since returning to the lineup. Rotowire.com Saturday, 10:56 pm
    • Cranks three-run homer
Riley went 1-for-2 with a three-run home run and two walks in Saturday's 9-2 victory against the Rays.

Advice: Riley broke the game open in the seventh frame with his three-run shot to center field that gave Atlanta an 8-1 lead. It was the second straight contest with a long ball for the third baseman following a 23-game homerless stretch (and a 45-game span during which he went deep only once). Riley may finally be getting his power on track, but with just five long balls through 233 plate appearances, he'll be hard-pressed to reach 30 homers for the fourth straight season. • Austin Riley homers against in win
Austin Riley went 1-for-2 with a home run and two walks in a win over the Rays on Saturday.

Advice: That’s now homers in back-to-back games for Riley, who might be starting to wake up a bit. There wasn’t much under the hood that looked “off” with Riley this year, but he was being pitched differently and not being given much he could turn on, which had hurt his pull power. Perhaps it took him a while to adjust his approach to combat that, or perhaps it’s just two good games. Only time will tell, but it seems smart to bet on Riley. Rotoworld Saturday, 7:17 pm

    • Belts fourth homer
Riley went 3-for-4 with a home run, a double, two runs scored and three RBI in Friday's win over Tampa Bay.

Advice: Riley hit an RBI double in the first inning before hammering a two-run homer in the second. It was just his fourth homer of the year and first since May 3, snapping a 23-game drought. During that homerless streak, he posted a brutal .462 OPS. Riley is now slashing .230/.296/.357 with 17 extra-base hits and 23 RBI through 54 games. Rotowire.com Friday, 8:18 pm
