    • Fans seven in no-decision
Assad allowed one run on five hits and two walks while striking out seven batters over five innings in a no-decision against San Francisco on Monday.

Advice: Assad needed 92 pitches to get through five frames, but he was effective during his time on the mound, limiting the Giants to just a fourth-inning run. However, the right-hander couldn't pick up his first win since mid-May, as Chicago's offense wasn't able to push across a run until after his departure. Nonetheless, this was a nice bounce-back for Assad after he surrendered seven earned runs over 10.1 frames across his previous two outings. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:47 pm

    • Nails down save Monday
Doval earned a save against the Cubs on Monday, striking out one batter in one perfect inning.

Advice: San Francisco scored three runs in the top of the ninth inning to take a one-run lead, and Doval entered in the bottom of the frame to try to slam the door on Chicago. He did so without much trouble, needing just 11 pitches to set down the side in order. The outing helped wash away the sour taste of Doval's outing one day earlier, when he allowed four runs over one-third of an inning in a non-save situation against the Angels. On the season, the closer has racked up 13 saves in 15 chances while posting a 4.71 ERA, 1.67 WHIP and 36:21 K:BB over 28.2 frames. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:25 pm
    • Doval picks up 13th save
Camilo Doval tossed a scoreless ninth inning and picked up the save against the Cubs on Monday.

Advice: Doval bounced back to earn the save after allowing four runs and recording only one out in his last appearance on Sunday. His ERA will take some time to recover from that outing, but he lowered it to 4.71 on Monday. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:40 pm
    • Assad allows one in five innings against Giants
Javier Assad allowed one run in five innings and got a no-decision against the Giants on Monday.

Advice: Assad gave up five hits, walked two and struck out seven. He won four of his first nine starts of the season, but hasn’t won any of his last six starts. Assad struck out at least seven batters for the fourth time in his last five starts. His ERA is now 2.75 on the year. The 26-year-old right-hander is set to face the Mets at home this weekend.

    • Throws five frames
Montas allowed three runs on four hits and three walks over five-plus innings in a no-decision Sunday. He struck out five during the loss to Milwaukee.

Advice: Montas rolled through four shutout frames before the Brewers finally pushed a run home in the fifth inning. He was removed after putting two straight runners on base to begin the sixth and was charged with both after Willy Adames launched a three-run homer. Montas took a no-hitter into the seventh inning against the Rockies on June 4 but has since been tagged with seven runs in just 6.1 frames over his last two starts. He now owns a 4.62 ERA with a 49:26 K:BB through 13 starts. Montas' next start is lined up to be at home against Boston. Rotowire.com Sunday, 7:48 pm

    • Camilo Doval has ugly outing in rout
Brought in with a 13-2 lead in the ninth, Camilo Doval was charged with four runs in one-third of an inning Sunday against the Angels.

Advice: Ouch. The Giants just wanted to get Doval some work after three days off, and he wound up allowing four hits and two walks. It’s the second time this month that he’s allowed four runs, though it wasn’t nearly as costly last time. He’s been fine, if not quite as good as last year, aside from those two outings, so his gig is safe. Rotoworld Sunday, 5:17 pm
    • Montas allows three in no-decision Sunday
Frankie Montas allowed three runs in five innings and got a no-decision against the Brewers on Sunday.

Advice: Montas gave up four hits, walked three and struck out five. He’s won only one of his last 11 starts and has only three quality starts in 13 starts this year. Three years removed from a season with 207 strikeouts and a 3.37 ERA, Montas is just about off the fantasy radar at this point. The 31-year-old right-hander is set to face the Red Sox at home next week.

    • Knocked around in loss
Flexen (2-6) took the loss Friday against Arizona, allowing four runs on nine hits and two walks over 3.1 innings. He struck out two.

Advice: Flexen couldn't avoid Arizona's bats in this outing, yielding a season-high nine hits and generating only six whiffs out of his 75 pitches. The Chicago right-hander now owns a 5.35 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 51:26 K:BB in 67.1 innings this season. Flexen returns home -- where he has been especially poor with a 5.70 ERA over 36.1 innings -- for his next scheduled start against the Astros. Rotowire.com Friday, 9:18 pm

    • Chris Flexen falls back to earth vs. D-Backs
Chris Flexen allowed six runs — four earned — in 3 1/3 innings while picking up a loss to the Diamondbacks on Friday.

Advice: Flexen had pitched well over his last three starts, but this was not a continuation. The right-hander gave up nine hits with two walks against two strikeouts. He’ll get a chance to lower a 5.35 ERA against the Astros next week. Rotoworld Friday, 9:12 pm
