    • Josh Naylor’s three-run homer powers Guardians
Josh Naylor went 1-for-3 with a three-run homer on Tuesday in the Guardians’ win over the Rangers.

Advice: Naylor capped off a six-run second inning for the Guardians when he smacked a three-run homer off Rangers rookie Jack Leiter to give the Guardians a commanding 6-1 lead. Naylor has now homered four times this month and has hit 12 on the season while also driving in 33 runs. He’s pacing toward a career year if he can continue his strong start. He’s cooled off a bit, slashing .239/.352/.587 this month, but continues to be an imposing threat in the middle of the order. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:16 pm
    • Jeffers’ homer gives Twins lone run vs. Yankees
Ryan Jeffers went 1-for-4 with a home run in Tuesday’s loss to the Yankees.

Advice: Carlos Rodón’s second pitch of the evening was sent 429 feet into the left field stands by Jeffers, who got the scoring started with a leadoff homer. It was Jeffers’ 10th home run of the season, as he’s well on pace to top his previous career high of 14 before the all-star break. Jeffers is now slashing .278/.308/.806 in the month of May with five homers and 13 RBI. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:34 pm
    • Gerrit Cole (elbow) throws another bullpen session
Gerrit Cole (elbow) threw a 36-pitch bullpen session on Tuesday.

Advice: It’s a bit unclear when exactly Cole will progress to facing hitters in a live batting practice session, but he’s made it through four bullpen sessions without any setbacks. He’s expected to return to New York’s starting rotation at some point in mid-June. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:41 pm

    • Cleared for running
Lewis (quadricep) did some light running on the field Tuesday, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Twins head athletic trainer Nick Paparesta described the upcoming week as a big one for Lewis when it comes to his recovery from the right quad strain that has kept him out since he suffered the injury Opening Day. Lewis will gradually ramp up the intensity of his running this week while incorporating more change-of-direction work into his training regimen. Depending on how Lewis responds to the running work, he could be cleared to begin a minor-league rehab assignment next weekend. In addition to running, Lewis has been fielding grounders and hitting. • Royce Lewis (quad) ramping up activity
Royce Lewis (quad) progressed to on-field running on Tuesday at Target Field.

Advice: Lewis has plateaued a bit in his rehabilitation process, so it’s an encouraging sign that he’s expected to ramp-up his baserunning this week. The 24-year-old third baseman’s return timetable should come into cleared focus at some point later this week. He’s been out since Opening Day recovering from a severe right quad strain. • Austin Riley sitting out again Tuesday vs. Cubs
Austin Riley (side) remains absent from the lineup for Tuesday’s showdown against the Cubs.

Advice: The Braves received positive news earlier this week when an MRI revealed only left side inflammation rather than an oblique strain. The 27-year-old fantasy stalwart remains day-to-day and appears likely to avoid a trip to the injured list at the moment. He should benefit from Thursday’s off-day giving him additional time to rest and recover, so it wouldn’t be surprising to see him return for Friday’s series opener against the Padres. • Expected back Wednesday
Phillies manager Rob Thomson said Tuesday that he expects Realmuto (knee) to return to the lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Mets, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Realmuto missed a third straight start Tuesday because of right knee soreness. However, he got in a productive workout pregame, and as long as he doesn't have any sort of setback, it appears he'll be back in there for Wednesday's tilt in Philadelphia. • J.T. Realmuto (knee) likely to return Wednesday
Phillies manager Rob Thomson told reporters J.T. Realmuto (knee) will return to the lineup on Wednesday.

Advice: Realmuto sat out Tuesday’s showdown against the Mets at Citi Field due to an ongoing right knee issue, but it sounds like he’ll be ready to go for Wednesday’s matchup, barring something unexpected. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:31 pm

    • Josh Jung (wrist) fields grounders on Tuesday
Josh Jung (wrist) fielded grounders on Tuesday.

Advice: It’s a significant step forward in Jung’s recovery process nearly six weeks out from surgery to repair a fractured right wrist. The 26-year-old slugger is expected to be sidelined until at least late May or early June, barring any setbacks. The biggest variable for fantasy managers to monitor is how his power rebounds following his return since that tends to be an issue, historically speaking, for hitters coming off wrist surgery.
