Trea Turner went 2-for-4 with a homer and three RBI in a loss to the Diamondbacks on Friday.
Advice: Turner has hit safely in all three games since returning from his hamstring injury yet this home run was his first extra-base hit. He smacked it 110.6 MPH off the bat, two MPH harder than he’s hit a ball all season. That’s a welcome sight because his power lagged before the injury with just three home runs in April before going down. RotoworldYesterday, 7:19 pm
Turner went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI in a 5-4 loss to the Diamondbacks on Friday.
Advice: Turner hit a two-run home run off Jordan Montgomery in the third inning then added an RBI single with the bases loaded in the seventh. Turner has gone 5-for-14 since returning from a hamstring injury, and the homer was his first since April 17. He has been excellent when healthy this season, slashing .344/.389/.470 with three home runs, 12 RBI, 29 runs scored and 10 steals over 162 plate appearances. Rotowire.comYesterday, 7:19 pm
Bryan Reynolds went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk on Friday against the Rays.
Advice: The home run was Reynolds’ 11th of the season and landed all the way in the Allegheny River beyond the concourse in right-center field. The homer also extended his hitting streak to 18 games. He’s become one of the most dependable yet unspectacular outfield bats in baseball. RotoworldYesterday, 6:31 pm
Tatis went 4-for-5 with a solo homer and a second run scored in Thursday's win over the Brewers.
Advice: Tatis recorded hits in each of his first four trips to the plate, including a home run in the bottom of the fifth to extend San Diego's lead to 5-3. It was the star outfielder's 14th long ball on the campaign and his fifth this month, during which he's now batting .370 with seven RBI, two stolen bases and 13 runs scored. It also marked Tatis' second four-hit performance this season, both of which have come in June. Rotowire.comYesterday, 7:47 am
Fernando Tatis Jr. went 4-for-5 with a homer versus the Brewers in Thursday’s victory.
Advice: Tatis had the two hardest-hit balls in the game with his 112-mph homer and 111-mph single. It’s been a month since his last multi-RBI game on May 19, but that’s not really his fault. RotoworldThursday, 11:17 pm
Diaz went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run Thursday against the Twins.
Advice: Diaz collected two hits, including his fifth homer of the season, to extend his hitting streak to 13 games and his on-base streak to 22 games. He's batting .351 over the course of the hit streak, though he has just one home run, one double, four RBI and six runs scored to show for his efforts. Rotowire.comThursday, 9:15 pm
Fernando Tatis Jr. is in the lineup for Thursday’s game against the Brewers.
Advice: Tatis got a day off earlier this week to address a lingering quad issue that he’s been playing through for the last few weeks. It’s possible the nagging issue has impacted his performance recently as he’s batting .130 (3-for-23) over his last seven games. RotoworldThursday, 3:00 pm
Yandy Diaz hit a two-run homer and doubled in an extra-inning loss to the Rays on Thursday.
Advice: Diaz absolutely clobbered a two-run homer that went an estimated 439 feet to extend the Rays’ lead to 6-2 in the ninth. It turns out the Rays would need those runs, as Minnesota scored four to tie it in the bottom half of the frame. Diaz is starting to heat up again, and he’s been much better than the .264/.327/.368 slash suggests after his slow start. RotoworldThursday, 1:30 pm
Nolan Arenado (elbow) is not in the lineup for Thursday’s showdown against the Giants.
Advice: As expected, Arenado is sitting out Thursday’s series opener against the Giants after X-rays came back negative on is left elbow after being hit by a pitch during Wednesday’s game against the Marlins. He had previously said he hoped to return by Saturday, so the Cardinals will continue to give him a couple of days off. Brandon Crawford will start at third base on Thursday and bat seventh.
