    • Blows second save
Alvarado (1-3) suffered the loss Sunday, allowing three runs (two earned) on two hits and two walks over two-thirds of an inning against the Mets. He struck out two.

Advice: Alvarado entered the game with a one-run lead looking to preserve his 12th save, but things went downhill quickly. After allowing a walk and a single to start the inning, an infield single by Mark Vientos tied the game. Then with the bases loaded and one out, a hit-by-pitch followed by a passed ball allowed two more runners to score, saddling Alvarado with his second blown save and third loss of the season. Sunday's outing came on the heels of five consecutive scoreless appearances since his last blown save, which came May 24 in Colorado. The outing lifted Alvarado's ERA to 3.54 with a 1.14 WHIP and 31 strikeouts through 28 innings this season. Rotowire.com Jun 9, 2:59 pm

    • Kyle Finnegan gets 18th save in win over ATL
Kyle Finnegan rescued the Nationals with a scoreless inning to secure an 8-5 win over the Braves on Sunday.

Advice: It didn’t seem like the Nationals would need Finnegan after taking an 8-2 lead into the ninth, but Jordan Weems allowed three runs on three hits without recording an out, so the Nationals asked Finnegan to bail them out. He responded by retiring the three batters he faced, including one on a strikeout. He now has 18 saves with a 1.73 ERA on the season and could be a big trade asset for the Nationals at the deadline if they decide to move on from the 32-year-old. The downside for fantasy managers is that he might not be a lock to close, depending on where he gets traded. Rotoworld Jun 9, 2:20 pm
    • José Alvarado blows save while allowing three runs
José Alvarado took a loss and blew a save while allowing three runs — two earned — in 2/3 of an inning against the Mets on Sunday in a 6-5 loss for the Phillies.

Advice: Alvarado is normally one of the more reliable stoppers in baseball, but Sunday wasn’t a good example of it. The southpaw issued a pair of walks and gave up two hits, and while he wasn’t helped by his defense, it was still a disappointing effort where he threw just 18-of-35 pitches for strikes. Expect Alvarado to bounce back in his next few appearances, but this one stings a bit. Rotoworld Jun 9, 10:40 am

    • Finnegan picks up 17th save against Braves Friday
Kyle Finnegan tossed a scoreless ninth inning and picked up the save against the Braves on Friday.

Advice: The save was Finnegan’s 17th of the season. He added two strikeouts in the process. His ERA is now 1.80 on the season. Finnegan has come out of nowhere to be one of the best closers in all of fantasy this season. Rotoworld Jun 7, 7:10 pm
    • Up to 17 saves
Finnegan earned the save Friday in a 2-1 win over Atlanta, striking out a pair in a scoreless ninth inning.

Advice: Finnegan is now 17-for-19 in save chances this year, tied for fourth-most in the majors. The right-hander's allowed just two earned runs in his last 23 appearances (23.1 innings), lowering his ERA to 1.80 with a 0.92 WHIP and 25:10 K:BB across 25 innings this season.
