    • Tosses five frames
Singer yielded a run on three hits and two walks over five innings in a no-decision Friday. He struck out four during the loss to Texas.

Advice: Singer turned in three scoreless frames before Wyatt Langford knocked an RBI double in the fourth inning. It was the only damage against Singer through five innings, but the Royals bullpen would go on to allow five runs in the sixth and cost him a win. It was his first start without allowing a homer since May 19; in his previous four outings, he was taken deep six times, resulting in a 5.31 ERA. Singer lowered his season ERA to 3.29 with an 80:25 K:BB through 82 frames. He's currently in line for a home start against the Marlins next week. Rotowire.com 4 minutes ago
    • Brady Singer pitches well in no-decision on Friday
Brady Singer pitched well in a no-decision against the Rangers on Friday night, allowing just one run on three hits over his five frames.

Advice: Singer racked up four strikeouts on the evening while surrendering a pair of free passes. The lone run that scored against him came on an RBI double off the bat of Wyatt Langford in the fourth inning. Singer exited with a 2-1 lead and in line for a victory, but the Royals’ bullpen was unable to oblige. The 27-year-old hurler got nine whiffs on 89 pitches on the night, registering a CSW of 24 percent. He’ll carry a 3.29 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and an 80/25 K/BB ratio (82 innings) into Wednesday’s matchup against the Marlins. Rotoworld 34 minutes ago
    • Continuing recovery at Arizona
Bradford (rib/back) is throwing a bullpen session Friday and then will be sent to the Rangers' Arizona Complex League affiliate, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Advice: Bradford has been sidelined since April with a lower back strain and a stress fracture in his rib. However, he's been making steady progression in June and will continue his recovery process in Arizona. While it's unclear when Bradford will start facing hitters, a return shortly after the All-Star break seems feasible. Rotowire.com Today, 4:16 pm

    • Absent from lineup again
Velazquez is not in the lineup for Friday's contest versus the Rangers.

Advice: The hot-hitting Freddy Fermin will make a second straight start at designated hitter. Velazquez has just a .401 OPS so far in June and has now been absent from the lineup for seven of 18 games this month. Rotowire.com Today, 1:04 pm
    • Drives in four
O'Hearn went 2-for-5 with a walk and four RBI in Thursday's 17-5 win over the Yankees.

Advice: O'Hearn logged his third multi-hit effort in his last four contests. The lefty slugger is batting .358 (19-for-53) with 12 RBI over 16 games in June. He's up to a .289/.347/.477 slash line with nine home runs, 30 RBI, 26 runs scored, two stolen bases and eight doubles over 59 games. O'Hearn will continue to play in a strong-side platoon role with few opportunities to step into the lineup versus southpaws. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:26 pm

    • Allows five earned runs in loss
Castillo (6-8) suffered the loss Thursday, allowing five runs on eight hits and two walks over five innings against the Guardians. He struck out four.

Advice: Castillo entered the fifth with a 3-2 lead, but with two outs a walk preceded a home run by Andres Gimenez, then another walk paved the way for a Josh Naylor double that saddled Castillo with five runs allowed and left him on the hook for the loss. Following Castillo's start June 2, he was on a 10-game stretch of allowing no more than two earned runs. However, his last three starts have been more of a mixed bag, as he's allowed 12 earned runs over his last 16 innings (6.75 ERA) including five runs allowed in two of his last three starts. He'll look to put things back together during his next start, scheduled to take place next week when the Mariners travel to Tampa to take on the Rays. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:08 pm

    • Luis Castillo struggles in start vs. Guardians
Luis Castillo gave up five runs in five innings against the Guardians on Thursday while picking up a loss.

Advice: Castillo allowed eight hits and two walks while striking out four. He gave up two homers in the outing; a solo blast by Will Brennan, and a two-run shot to Andres Gimenez in the fifth. It’s a disappointing outing for the right-hander, and it’s the second time in three outings he’s given up five runs in as many frames. Expect Castillo to bounce back next week against the Rays in Tampa. Rotoworld Yesterday, 12:38 pm

    • Swipes second bag
Robert went 2-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base Wednesday against the White Sox.

Advice: Robert has popped five home runs in 14 games since returning from the injured list, but he's otherwise been a poor source of fantasy value. He has a 39.3 percent strikeout in that span and is hitting just .184. Positively, Robert did swipe his first base since returning and his second of the season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:36 am

    • Remains at DH
Smith started at designated hitter and went 1-for-3 with a walk, a double, an RBI and a run scored in Wednesday's 5-3 win over the Mets.

Advice: Smith returned from a hamstring injury Tuesday but has been limited to DH duties in both games, and he's still made an impact with his bat. In the bottom of the sixth inning Wednesday, he doubled in a run then scored a game-tying run. Smith is 3-for-7 with a home run, a double, four RBI and an additional run scored in the two games at DH. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:46 am
