    • Earns 14th save
Diaz earned a save against Cleveland on Wednesday, retiring all three batters he faced in the ninth inning.

Advice: Entering with a 4-2 lead in the ninth inning, Diaz needed just 13 pitches to retire the Guardians in order. Since May 21, Diaz is 7-for-7 in save chances with only two runs allowed over 10 appearances. On the season, Diaz is 14-for-16 in save chances with a 5.33 ERA, 1.46 WHIP and 27:18 K:BB in 25.1 innings. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 8:06 pm
    • MRI comes back clean for Jurickson Profar (knee)
Jurickson Profar (knee) underwent a precautionary MRI exam on his injured knee on Wednesday that came back clean for any structural damage.

Advice: Padres’ fans and fantasy managers can breathe a sigh of relief, as one of the biggest surprises of the first half of the season won’t miss substantial time. He’s still considered day-to-day and should return to the Padres’ lineup at some point over the weekend. Rotoworld Wednesday, 8:00 pm
    • Labors in no-decision
Assad did not factor into the decision in Wednesday's 4-3 win over Tampa Bay, allowing two runs on five hits and two walks with four strikeouts over 4.2 innings.

Advice: Assad opened with two scoreless frames then allowed a run in the third on a double by Isaac Paredes and another on a solo home run by Jose Siri in the fourth. With two runners on and two outs in the fifth, Assad was pulled at 90 pitches with a 2-1 deficit. Since his last win on May 15, Assad has failed to reach six innings or record a win in five straight outings and has seen his ERA climb from 1.49 to 2.81. He tentatively lines up for a home matchup against the Giants next Monday. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 7:44 pm

    • Javier Assad lifted in fifth versus Rays
Javier Assad was lifted after allowing two runs in 4 2/3 innings Wednesday against the Rays.

Advice: Tyson Miller stranded two runners after taking over for Assad in the fifth. After opening the season 4-0 with a 1.49 ERA in nine starts, Assad has gone 0-2 with a 5.32 ERA in his last five turns. The truth for Assad is somewhere in between, of course, but it’s probably a little closer to the latter than the former. Rotoworld Wednesday, 7:14 pm

    • Alexis Díaz slams door on Guardians in ninth
Alexis Díaz slammed the door on the Guardians in the ninth inning on Saturday, retiring all three hitters that he faced in order to preserve a two-run advantage.

Advice: Díaz made things look easy in this one, getting Steven Kwan on a pop up to shortstop, Kyle Manzardo on a fly ball to right field and Jose Ramirez on a pop up to second base to end it — needing just 13 pitches (nine strikes) to get the job done. The 27-year-old hurler now holds a 5.33 ERA, 1.46 WHIP and a 27/18 K/BB ratio (25 1/3 innings) to go along with 14 saves and one victory on the season. Rotoworld Wednesday, 7:07 pm
    • Tanner Bibee strikes out 11 in loss to Reds
Tanner Bibee had mixed results in Wednesday’s loss to the Reds, giving up four runs on just four hits over his 5 1/3 innings of work.

Advice: The right-hander piled up 11 strikeouts during the impressive outing while issuing only one base on balls. Unfortunately, two of the four hits that he allowed left the yard — as Jeimer Candelario belted a solo homer in the opening inning and a go-ahead three-run shot that chased Bibee in the sixth. The 25-year-old hurler got a whopping 16 swings and misses on 102 pitches on the night — seven on his slider alone — while registering a CSW of 33 percent. He’ll look to get back in the win column as he carries a 3.94 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and an 87/20 K/BB ratio (75 1/3 innings) into Wednesday’s matchup against the Mariners. • Craig Kimbrel earns 16th save against Braves
Craig Kimbrel protected a two-run lead with a perfect ninth for a save Wednesday against the Braves.

Advice: Kimbrel has allowed just a lone unearned run over his last 12 appearances. He’s 16-for-19 saving games, and his ERA stands at 2.59. Rotoworld Wednesday, 6:38 pm
    • Michael King strikes out 12 on Wednesday vs. A’s
Michael King struck out a season-high 12 and allowed two runs over five innings on Wednesday in a no-decision against the Athletics.

Advice: King turned in one of his best outings of the year, generating an eye-popping 19 swinging strikes -- including 15 combined on his changeup and sweeper combination — and finished with a near-elite 39 percent CSW. The 29-year-old righty has allowed three earned runs or fewer in seven of his last eight starts since May 4. He’ll bring a solid 3.58 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 95/34 K/BB ratio across 83 innings (15 appearances, 14 starts) into a challenging road matchup on Tuesday against the red-hot Phillies. • Jurickson Profar is not in the lineup on Wednesday
Jurickson Profar (knee) is not the Padres’ lineup against the Athletics on Wednesday.

Advice: Profar tweaked his knee in Tuesday night’s game and is considered day-to-day for now. The Padres don’t seem to believe an IL stint is necessary, but it will depend on how Profar responds over the next few days. Jose Azocar will start in left field and bat ninth with Profar on the bench. Rotoworld Wednesday, 12:21 pm
