    • Perez has two-hit night in win over Tigers
Salvador Perez went 2-for-5 with one RBI in Tuesday’s win over the Tigers.

Advice: The real story of the night was Bobby Witt Jr.'s two-homer, six RBI performance, but Perez also managed two hits, with his first coming on a single that scored Witt Jr. Perez now has 39 RBI on the season and has hit safely in seven straight games. He’s slashing .324/.387/.500 in May and has eight extra-base hits on the month. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:26 pm
    • Sparks rally Monday
Perez went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Monday's 8-3 win over the Tigers.

Advice: It was a close game until the sixth inning, when Perez ignited a six-run rally for the Royals with his solo shot. The catcher has hit safely in six straight games, going 10-for-21 (.476) in that span. the homer was his first since May 3. Perez remains one of the top hitters in baseball this season with a .341/.404/.565 slash line, nine long balls, 38 RBI, 19 runs scored and 11 doubles over 47 contests. Rotowire.com Monday, 11:41 pm

He’s hitting an incredible .341 overall. The 34-year-old is a career .269 hitter and has never even hit .300 in a single-season where he’s played at least 100 games.

    • Adley Rutschman not starting Sunday vs. Mariners
Adley Rutschman is not in the lineup for Sunday’s finale against the Mariners.

Advice: Rutschman gets a rare day off for the finale against George Kirby and the Mariners. While Rutschman rests the Orioles will have James McCann behind the plate. Rotoworld Sunday, 7:48 am

    • Belts big three-run blast
Contreras went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run Saturday in a 4-2 victory versus Houston.

Advice: Contreras provided the biggest hit of the game with a three-run, fourth-inning homer that broke a 1-1 tie and sent Justin Verlander to the showers. The long ball was the backstop's second in his past three games and extended his current on-base streak to 25 contests. During that stretch, Contreras is batting .347 with three homers, 17 RBI, 22 runs, two stolen bases and a 14:16 BB:K. Rotowire.com Saturday, 10:46 pm
    • William Contreras hits three-run blast vs. Astros
William Contreras connected on a three-run homer to help the Brewers to a 4-2 win over the Astros on Saturday.

Advice: Contreras absolutely shellacked a Justin Verlander offering to center — travelling an estimated 428 feet — to give the Brew Crew a 4-1 lead. The 26-year-old backstop has been sensational in 2024 with seven homers, 37 RBI and an OPS of .990. That’s a star level of offense even before you consider that he’s doing it as a catcher. • Perez drives in two on Saturday
Salvador Perez went 1-for-4 with two RBI against the Athletics on Saturday.

Advice: Perez had a two-run single in the first inning that opened the scoring. The 34-year-old backstop has been great this year as he’s hitting .333 with a .949 OPS. His walk percentage is nearly double what it usually is at 7.8 percent and his strikeout percentage of 15 percent would be his lowest since 2015. Still, we can’t expect Perez to keep up this average as his .368 BABIP is 77 points higher than his career .291 BABIP.

    • Three hits in win
Perez went 3-for-3 with a double, a walk, an RBI and a run scored in Friday's 6-2 win over the Athletics.

Advice: Perez opened the scoring with an RBI single in the first inning and got on base three more times in Friday's victory. The veteran catcher is batting .294 (15-for-51) with seven extra-base hits and eight RBI in May. That's actually down from his overall numbers -- Perez is slashing a stellar .335/.403/.557 with eight home runs, 34 RBI, 18 runs scored and 11 doubles over 176 plate appearances. He last hit above .300 for a full season in the abbreviated 2020 campaign, so there is a high risk that he cools off eventually in 2024, but he's been excellent over the first quarter of the season.
