  • Out of starting nine versus lefty
Kirilloff is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Angels.

Advice: The lefty-hitting Kirilloff will bow out of the starting nine with the Angels bringing southpaw Reid Detmers to the hill. Kirilloff had made his last two starts in left field, but Austin Martin will spell him Sunday. Rotowire.com Today, 11:23 am
  • Hits bench in second straight
Singleton is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rockies in Mexico City, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Advice: The lefty-hitting Singleton seems to have moved into the strong side of a platoon at first base of late with the struggling Jose Abreu, though Abreu got the start in Saturday's 12-4 win against Rockies right-hander Paul Quantrill. After going 2-for-5 with two RBI in the win, Abreu will stick in the lineup Sunday against southpaw Austin Gomber. It's unclear if the Astros plan to bring Singleton back in the starting nine the next time they face off against a righty. Rotowire.com Today, 10:57 am
  • Gets day off
Encarnacion-Strand is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rangers.

Advice: Encarnacion-Strand will head to the bench in what looks to be a routine maintenance day after he had started in each of the Reds' last eight games. Spencer Steer will get a day out of the outfield and fill in at first base for Encarnacion-Strand, who has seen his season-long batting average dip below the Mendoza Line (.196) while going 1-for-14 with five strikeouts over his last four starts. • Back in action Sunday
Diaz (finger) is starting at first base and batting leadoff Sunday against the White Sox, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Advice: The 32-year-old sat out Saturday after being hit by a pitch in the left pinky finger Friday, but he'll rejoin the starting nine after missing just one game. Diaz is hitting .324 in his past nine contests, though he's slugging just .378 during that stretch and has not hit a home run since Opening Day. Rotowire.com Today, 9:04 am
  • Rhys Hoskins takes seat Sunday vs. Yankees
Rhys Hoskins is not in the starting lineup for Sunday’s game against the Yankees.

Advice: Hoskins homered in Saturday’s blowout loss, and his reward is a day of rest against the Yankees on Sunday. Jake Bauers is hitting cleanup and playing first base in Hoskins’ absense. Rotoworld Today, 9:03 am
  • Not in Sunday's lineup
Vaughn is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rays.

Advice: Vaughn started the past six games but will head to the bench Sunday after going 5-for-24 during that stretch. Gavin Sheets will shift to first base while Robbie Grossman starts in right field. Rotowire.com Today, 8:50 am
  • Takes seat Sunday
Pasquantino is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Tigers.

Advice: With the Royals wrapping up their series with a day game and with ace lefty Tarik Skubal on the bump for the Tigers, Kansas City manager Matt Quatraro likely felt that it was an opportune time to give the lefty-hitting Pasquantino a game off. Pasquantino had started in each of the Royals' last 14 games and had gone hitless over the past five contests. Rotowire.com Today, 8:20 am
  • Bat shows life in win
Dalbec went 2-for-4 with a double, three RBI and two runs scored in Saturday's 17-0 win over the Cubs.

Advice: Dalbec's bat, like many others in the lineup, came alive in the blowout win. His season-opening struggles are epic -- zero hits in his first 19 at-bats and one in the first 32 -- but the corner infielder now has a four-game hit streak (5-for-15). However it's too late save his job as the team's primary fill-in at first base while Triston Casas (ribs, 60-day IL) is sidelined. The Red Sox acquired Garrett Cooper from the Cubs on Saturday, and he is expected to get the bulk of the starts at first base until Casas is ready. Cooper is expected to be activated in time for Tuesday's series opener against the Giants. Rotowire.com Today, 8:01 am
  • Out of Sunday's lineup
Torkelson is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Royals.

Advice: Torkelson is 1-for-17 with six strikeouts over his past four games and will hit the bench for Sunday's series finale versus Kansas City. Mark Canha will shift to first base while Wenceel Perez receives a start in the outfield. Rotowire.com Today, 8:00 am
