• Bobby Miller throws another bullpen session
Bobby Miller (shoulder) threw another bullpen session earlier this week.

Advice: Miller is expected to get in another throwing session later this week before heading out on a minor league rehab assignment. The hard-throwing 25-year-old righty has been out since mid-April due to right shoulder inflammation. It sounds like he’ll be ready to return to the Dodgers’ starting rotation before the end of May. • Montas takes tough luck loss in return from IL
Frankie Montas allowed two runs (one earned) on four hits in six innings in a loss to the Diamondbacks on Tuesday.

Advice: Montas was sharp in his return from the IL, striking out seven and walking just one. He allowed just one extra-base hit on the day and his two runs were driven in on a fielder’s choice and single to score a runner who was only on because of an Elly De La Cruz error. Montas was throwing two mph harder on every pitch in his arsenal; however, he was only able to get strikeouts on his splitter and registered a 25 percent CSW. It feels a little bit like Montas will still go as far as his splitter will take him, which makes him a risky proposition in fantasy leagues but one you can likely start against the Giants this weekend. • Burnes allows three earned runs in loss to Nats
Corbin Burnes allowed five hits and three earned runs over 6 1/3 innings in Tuesday’s loss to the Nationals.

Advice: Burnes needed 50 pitches to get through the first three innings and allowed his first run in the second inning when Joey Meneses singled home Jesse Winker. He allowed four base runners through the first three innings but would settle in to retire nine of 10 hitters in innings four through six. He’d be chased quickly in the seventh after a leadoff double by Joey Meneses was followed by RBI singles from Eddie Rosario and Trey Lipscomb, but it was an otherwise solid outing for Burnes, who lacked offensive support in this one. He’ll look to tally his first win of May when he toes the rubber Monday against the Blue Jays. Rotoworld 9 minutes ago

  • Kyle Finnegan notches 12th save of the season
Kyle Finnegan recorded his 12th save of the season in Tuesday’s win over the Orioles.

Advice: Finnegan pitched a perfect ninth inning to close out the Orioles in the 3-0 win. The Nationals closer is now 12-of-13 in save opportunities this season and is a perfect 3-for-3 in save opportunities this month. He and the National will look to record a two-game sweep of the Orioles in the short series on Wednesday. Rotoworld 11 minutes ago

  • Trevor Williams strikes out eight in win over O’s
Trevor Williams struck out eight over five shutout innings on Tuesday in a win over the Orioles.

Advice: Williams got off to a strong start in this one, striking out eight of the first 15 batters he faced while allowing just one baserunner. It was a strong outing for Williams, whose eight strikeouts tied a career-high. He was pulled after 77 pitches, with short outings being par for the course for him this season. Williams lowered his ERA to 1.96 on the year and has allowed one earned run or less in five of his seven starts on the year. Williams will look to continue his hot start on Monday against the lowly White Sox. Rotoworld 16 minutes ago

  • Zach Eflin completes seven in win over White Sox
Zach Eflin yielded one run over seven innings on Tuesday in a win over the White Sox.

Advice: Eflin struck out three and limited a lifeless Chicago offense to just six baserunners over seven frames. He generated only four swinging strikes on 94 pitches and finished with a lackluster 24 percent CSW. It was a nice bounce-back effort after giving up at least three earned runs in each of his previous two outings, including a clunker against the White Sox back on April 26. He’ll bring a solid 3.75 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 39/4 K/BB ratio across 48 innings (eight starts) into a road matchup on Monday against the Red Sox at Fenway Park.

  • Michael Soroka gives up four runs in loss to Rays
Michael Soroka was charged with four runs (three earned) over five innings on Tuesday in a loss to the Rays.

Advice: Soroka gave up three hits, including a two-run homer to Randy Arozarena. He struck out four and also issued four walks. He’ll bring a lackluster 6.34 ERA, 1.59 WHIP and 20/23 K/BB ratio acoss 38 1/3 innings (eight starts) into a home outing on Sunday against the Guardians. Rotoworld 18 minutes ago
  • Allen shelled in loss to the Tigers
Logan Allen allowed seven earned runs in 2.1 innings in Tuesday’s loss to the Tigers

Advice: Allen was chased by the Tigers in the third inning, marking his shortest outing of the season. His ERA increased to 6.41 after what was easily his worst outing of the year. Allen has just one quality start in eight tries this season. The 25-year-old southpaw will have a plus matchup in his next start as he’s scheduled to face the White Sox on Sunday. • Maeda hammered again versus Guardians on Tuesday
Kenta Maeda blew up again on Tuesday allowing seven earned runs in 2 innings in the Tigers 11-7 victory over the Guardians.

Advice: Tigers manager A.J. Hinch had seen enough of Maeda in this one after the second inning. This marks the third time in seven starts that Maeda has allowed at least six runs this season. Maeda’s ERA ballooned to 6.75 on the season after this performance. The 36-year-old right-hander is set to face the Marlins at home next week, but is best left safely on the bench.
