    • Homers in back-to-back games
Burleson went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Monday's 7-4 loss to the Astros.

Advice: This was Burleson's second straight game with a homer after he went 12 contests without one. The 25-year-old is up to seven homers through 51 contests in 2024, one long ball shy of matching his total from 107 games last year. He's added a reliable .271/.299/.429 slash line with 21 RBI, 16 runs scored and two stolen bases over 177 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:41 pm

    • Homers twice in loss
Gorman went 2-for-3 with two solo home runs in a 7-4 loss to the Astros on Monday.

Advice: Gorman hit solo home runs off Justin Verlander in the first and fifth innings and added a walk in the third. Gorman has been on an absolute binge in his past 10 games, tallying five multi-hit efforts, six home runs and 12 RBI since May 21. On the season, Gorman is now slashing .230/.318/.294 and leads all second basemen in home runs with 13. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:01 pm

    • Homers, reaches base four times
Vientos went 2-for-3 with a solo home run, two walks and an additional run scored in Monday's 8-7 win over Washington.

Advice: Vientos hit a solo home run off Nationals starter MacKenzie Gore in the fourth inning, his second long ball over his past three games. The 24-year-old continues to crush left-handed pitching, entering Monday's game with a .444/.483/.815 slash line against southpaws. Vientos has firmly established himself as the Mets' starting third baseman, batting .339 with five home runs and 11 runs scored through 66 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:59 pm

    • Gorman blasts two home runs Monday
Nolan Gorman went 2-for-3 with a walk and two solo home runs against the Astros on Monday.

Advice: The two home runs give Gorman 13 on the season. He’s now hit three home runs in his last two games. Gorman isn’t going to provide a good average. He’s hitting .230 and his career average is .230. Gorman can hit the stuffing out of the ball, though. He had 27 home runs in 119 games last year and is on pace to push for 30 home runs this year. • Mark Vientos homers, reaches four times in win
Mark Vientos went 2-for-3 with a solo homer on Monday, powering the Mets to an 8-7 victory over the Nationals.

Advice: Vientos put the Mets ahead with a gargantuan 420-foot homer off Nationals starter MacKenzie Gore in the fourth inning and wound up reaching base safely in four of his five plate appearances in a back-and-forth slugfest at Nationals Park. The 24-year-old burgeoning slugger is making the most of his opportunity as New York’s primary third baseman in the wake of Brett Baty’s demotion, batting .327 (17-for-52) with four homers over his last 15 games. He won’t sustain a .366 BABIP forever, but he’s locked-in at the dish right now and is at least worthy of a speculative roster spot in deeper mixed leagues. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:10 pm

    • Getting rest Monday
Vierling is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Rangers.

Advice: Vierling will get a breather for the series opener, despite being one of the hottest hitters in the Detroit lineup at the moment. While starting each of the last seven games, Vierling recorded at least one hit and produced a .438/.455/.906 slash line overall. The 27-year-old should have a hold on a near-everyday role while he's sizzling at the plate, but his absence from the lineup Monday will open up a spot in the outfield for Akil Baddoo. • Getting sore elbow checked out
Brewers manager Pat Murphy said Monday that Gasser is dealing with "some tightness, soreness" in his left elbow and is in the process of receiving a second opinion, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Advice: Gasser last pitched Saturday versus the White Sox, yielding three runs over five innings of work in a no-decision. He had been lined up to pitch in this week's series in Philadelphia, but clearly his status in the short and long term is now up in the air. Gasser dealt with an elbow problem earlier this season, as well, which delayed his season debut at Triple-A Nashville. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:42 pm

    • Robert Gasser dealing with elbow soreness
Robert Gasser is dealing with elbow tightness and soreness, according to manager Pat Murphy, and is getting a second opinion.

Advice: That suggests the first opinion wasn’t great. It’s possible this is related to the bone spur he dealt with in March. There were no problems reported for Gasser after his outing Saturday against the White Sox. He’s been looking like a keeper since getting the call last month, going 2-0 with a 2.57 ERA in five starts. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:26 pm

    • Snaps slump with homer
Burleson went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run in Sunday's 5-4 extra-inning win over the Phillies.

Advice: Burleson entered Sunday 0-for-17 over his last four games. He ended the drought -- his longest of the season -- with a third-inning blast to put the Cardinals ahead 4-2. Burleson has been forced into a larger role with the Cardinals lacking several starters, including Lars Nootbaar (oblique), who is expected to be out for nearly all of June. Burleson is slashing .273/.302/.418 with six homers, 20 RBI, 15 runs scored and two stolen bases over 50 contests and should have a chance to continue playing on a near-everyday basis for the foreseeable future.
