• Orlando Arcia homers in win over Boston
Orlando Arcia went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in a win over the Red Sox on Tuesday.

Advice: The home run was Arcia’s sixth of the year, and he’s now up to 21 RBI as well. Both of Arcia’s hits were over 100 mph, but he’s slashing just .235/.257/.385 on the year. Still, he plays pretty much every day for a lineup that still has the potential to put up runs in bunches. That makes him worthy of a roster spot in most fantasy leagues. • Ends power drought
Albies went 2-for-3 with a double, a three-run home run and an additional run during Tuesday's 8-3 win over the Red Sox.

Advice: Albies went yard for the first time in 22 games, plating Austin Riley and Marcel Ozuna in the sixth inning on a three-run shot off Kutter Crawford. He's been swinging a hot bat as of late, batting .324 with five doubles, six RBi and five runs scored in his last 10 games. After slugging a career-high 33 homers last season, Albies has just four round-trippers in 50 games in 2024 and his slugging percentage has dropped from .513 to .410. • Dom Smith homers in loss to Braves
Dominic Smith went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in a loss to the Braves on Tuesday.

Advice: Smith took Max Fried deep in the third inning, but it was a 352-foot shot that would only have been a home run in two MLB stadiums. The 28-year-old is slashing .198/.284/.308 on the season with two home runs. He should not be rostered in any fantasy formats and could only have a few more weeks on the Red Sox roster as they await Triston Casas’ return from injury. Rotoworld 57 minutes ago

  • Robbie Ray strikes out three in rehab appearance
Robbie Ray (elbow) threw a scoreless inning on Tuesday in a minor league rehab start in the Rookie-level Arizona Complex League.

Advice: Ray gave up a hit to Mariners top prospect Felnin Celestin, who is quickly emerging as one of the top fantasy prospects in baseball, but struck out the other three batters he faced in his first competitive inning since last year’s Tommy John surgery. The 32-year-old southpaw figures to be an option for San Francisco at some point around next month’s All-Star break. Rotoworld Today, 7:25 pm
  • Max Fried strikes out 13 in win over Boston
Max Fried allowed three runs (two earned) on four hits in seven innings in a win over the Red Sox.

Advice: Fried also struck out 13 on the day while walking just one. He did give up a home run to Dominic Smith, but it was the only extra-base hit he allowed in the game. He got 21 whiffs on 50 swings for an impressive 42 percent whiff rate and 40 percent CSW. This Red Sox lineup is clearly short-handed due to injuries, but Fried was masterful on Tuesday and now has a 2.93 ERA on the year. He should be in line for another good start against the Nationals this weekend. Rotoworld Today, 7:25 pm

  • Kutter Crawford has another rough start in loss
Kutter Crawford allowed six runs (four earned) on five hits in six innings in a loss to the Braves on Tuesday.

Advice: Crawford has now allowed 15 earned runs in 16 1/3 innings in his last three starts. However, those starts were also against the Brewers, Braves, and Orioles. He was never going to carry over the 1.75 ERA he had over his first eight starts, but he’s also not pitching as poorly of late as those earned runs totals would indicate. He induced 12 whiffs on 51 swings for a 24 percent whiff rate on the day and lines up for a much better start against the White Sox this weekend. He should still be rostered and started in almost all formats. Rotoworld Today, 7:22 pm

  • Hit hard by Atlanta
Crawford (2-5) took the loss Tuesday against Atlanta, allowing six runs (four earned) on five hits and two walks across six innings. He struck out five.

Advice: The right-hander surrendered three extra-base hits Tuesday, which resulted in five of the six runs scored by Atlanta while Crawford was on the mound. Ozzie Albies and Jared Kelenic came around to score after hitting doubles before Albies went yard on a three-run blast in the sixth inning. Tuesday's start was the latest in a rough patch for the 28-year-old, who's allowed four or more earned runs in four of his last five showings. During that span, Crawford is 0-4 with a 6.43 ERA across 28.0 innings. However, a road start against the White Sox on Sunday could be exactly what he needs to get back on track. • X-rays negative
Initial X-rays on Murphy's right elbow came back negative after he was hit by a pitch during Tuesday's win over the Red Sox, Justin Toscano of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Advice: Murphy's elbow swelled up significantly immediately following the HBP, though he appears to have escaped the incident without suffering any structural damage. The catcher also said after Tuesday's game that he is confident he'll be able to avoid the injured list and get back to playing within a few days. Travis d'Arnaud would start behind the plate for any games that Murphy may have to miss. Rotowire.com Today, 7:18 pm

  • Pete Fairbanks earns save in win over Marlins
Pete Fairbanks put out a bases-loaded jam to secure a save in a 9-5 win over the Marlins on Tuesday.

Advice: Phil Maton started the ninth inning with the Rays up by four runs, but he allowed three straight hits, so the Rays called on Fairbanks to bail them out. The right-hander got two strikeouts and then a groundout to end the game and earn his seventh save of the season. The 30-year-old has battled some injuries and nerve issues in his throwing hand, but he has a 3.50 ERA on the season and remains a solid closer when healthy. Rotoworld Today, 7:17 pm
