• Exits starting nine
Blackmon is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Phillies.

Advice: With a tough lefty (Ranger Suarez) on the hill for Philadelphia and the Rockies and Phillies wrapping up their series with a day game after a night game, the lefty-hitting Blackmon will receive some routine maintenance. His absence from the lineup will open up the designated-hitter spot for Kris Bryant, who started at first base in Saturday's 8-4 loss. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:49 am

  • Blake Snell activated off of paternity list
Giants activated LHP Blake Snell off the paternity list.

Advice: Snell was away from the team for three days. He’s back and will make a start this week against the Phillies. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:02 am

  • Returns from paternity list
Snell (personal) was reinstated from the paternity list Sunday, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Advice: According to Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle, Snell is still awaiting the birth of his baby, despite stepping away from the team for the last three days in anticipation of welcoming a new addition to his family. The left-hander was placed on the paternity list a day after he made his most recent start Wednesday against the Pirates, but he won't end up missing a turn now that he's back on the active roster. He's expected to take the hill Monday against the Phillies, though he could go back on the paternity list during the upcoming week if his child ends up being born. • Takes seat Friday
Blackmon is out of the lineup for Friday's game against Philadelphia.

Advice: Blackmon will dodge a matchup with southpaw Cristopher Sanchez on Friday, with Kris Bryant occupying the DH slot and Brenton Doyle starting in center field. Blackmon is slashing .226/.307/.336 across 163 plate appearances this season. Rotowire.com Friday, 12:52 pm

  • Four hits in win
Mountcastle went 4-for-5 with a double and two runs scored in Thursday's win over the White Sox.

Advice: Mountcastle recorded hits in each of his first four at-bats, marking only the second time this month in which he's scored two runs in a contest. The first baseman saw his batting average jump 16 points with his fourth multi-hit performance this month, though he hasn't driven in a run since May 8. Mountcastle is also yet to draw a walk in May while striking out 17 times. Rotowire.com Friday, 7:31 am

  • Mountcastle has four-hit game Thursday
Ryan Mountcastle went 4-for-5 with a double and two runs scored against the White Sox on Thursday.

Advice: Mountcastle scored on Jorge Mateo’s three-run home run in the fourth inning and on an Adley Rutschman home run in the sixth inning. The four hits marked a nice bounce back game for Mountcastle, who had been slumping. The Orioles have a deep group of hitters to choose from, but he should stay in the lineup as long as he continues to hit.

  • Back-to-back blown saves
Beeks allowed a run on two hits and struck out one over two-thirds of an inning to take a blown save versus the Athletics on Thursday.

Advice: Beeks gave up a game-tying solo home run to Daz Cameron in the ninth inning. This was Beeks' second straight blown save, and it appears his high-wire act of allowing multiple baserunners in five straight contests is starting to come back to haunt him. On the year, Beeks has a 2.74 ERA, but a 1.35 WHIP and a 17:12 K:BB through 23 innings suggest he's been lucky to attain that level of run prevention. He's held the closer job for the Rockies for much of May, but that could come to an end if he doesn't right the ship quickly. Rotowire.com Thursday, 7:36 pm

  • Jalen Beeks blows another save Thursday
Jalen Beeks blew his second save in as many days against the Athletics on Thursday.

Advice: Beeks started the ninth inning with a one-run lead and immediately gave it up by allowing a home run to Athletics outfield Daz Cameron. He’s now converted just four of his seven opportunities for saves. The 30-year-old left-hander’s grip on the closer role in Colorado seems tenuous at best. Rotoworld Thursday, 4:02 pm

  • Getting breather Thursday
Blackmon is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Athletics.

Advice: Blackmon will be joined on the bench by Elias Diaz, Kris Bryant and Brendan Rodgers as the Rockies rest four key regulars for the day game after a night game. Hunter Goodman will pick up the start at designated hitter in place of Blackmon. Rotowire.com Thursday, 10:42 am
