    Thomas Harding of MLB.comRockies manager Bud Black said Friday that Lambert will be moving out of the rotation to the bullpen, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.

    Advice: Lambert has started in three games for the Rockies this season, giving up at least four runs in each of them. In his last outing against the Cubs on Thursday, Lambert allowed seven runs on nine hits while striking out two over three innings. The right-hander has a 7.61 ERA and 1.69 WHIP over 23.2 innings this season.     Advice: As expected, the 24-year-old right-hander will rejoin the Mariners’ rotation on Friday night against the Athletics. Woo has been shelved since the end of March due to inflammation in his pitching elbow but looked sharp on his minor league rehab assignment.   • Resumes throwing
    Musgrove (elbow) played catch Friday, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

    Advice: Friday marks the first time Musgrove has played catch since he landed on the injured list Sunday due to right elbow inflammation. The 31-year-old righty said everything looked good after receiving an MRI and still expects to return from the injured list when eligible next Friday.     Matz (back) played catch off the mound Friday in St. Louis, John Denton of MLB.com reports.

    Advice: Matz has been on the 15-day injured list since May 3 while dealing with a lower-back strain, more specifically a protruding disc, but manager Oli Marmol said Friday that the expectation for the left-hander is for him to throw at a higher intensity Monday. It's unclear how close Matz is to returning to game action, but prior to being activated from the injured list, he'll likely have to make at least one rehab start with a minor-league affiliate.     Cubs manager Craig Counsell said Friday that Taillon was scratched from Friday's start against the Pirates due to back stiffness, Meghan Montemurro of the Chicago Tribune reports.

    Advice: Taillon felt his back act up Tuesday when playing catch, and it has persisted enough for his slated start for the series opener to be pushed back. Counsell noted that the back issue is not as bad as the one Taillon sustained in spring training that caused the right-hander to start the season on the 15-day IL. Taillon will be re-evaluated Saturday, and there's a chance he takes the mound in the series finale Sunday. Javier Assad will start Friday while Justin Steele will take to the mound Saturday.
