The 26-year-old lefty has surrendered 11 runs combined over his last two starts, which is when Arizona apparently decided they’ve seen enough for now. Walker has been dealing with a blister issue on his right finger, which has impacted his ability to command his arsenal of late. Mercado will be utilized out of the Philadelphia bullpen for now, with Spencer Turnbull lined up to start Wednesday against the Tigers as a replacement in the rotation for Walker, per Paul Casella of MLB.com.
