• Leaves with injured foot
Morel was removed from Wednesday's game against the White Sox after fouling a ball off his left foot, Meghan Montemurro of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Advice: Morel looked to be in a considerable amount of pain after getting hit in the foot, but he remained in the game to finish his at-bat, during which he drew a walk. Patrick Wisdom entered the game as a pinch runner, and the Cubs will now take a closer look at Morel. The 24-year-old had gone 5-for-16 with two homers and three RBI across his last five games heading into Wednesday's contest. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:39 pm

  • Christopher Morel exits with injury on Wednesday
Christopher Morel was removed from Wednesday’s battle against the White Sox in the seventh inning after fouling a pitch off of his left foot in the seventh inning.

Advice: The 24-year-old finished the plate appearance where he worked a walk but was ultimately lifted for a pinch-runner. He’ll presumably head for X-rays to rule out any potential fractures in his foot and the Cubs should have an update on his status after the conclusion of Wednesday’s ballgame. • Nick Gonzales knocks in four in win over Dodgers
Nick Gonzales drove in four runs with a double, a single and a sac fly Wednesday as the Pirates bested the Dodgers 10-6.

Advice: Gonzales is now tied for third on the Pirates with 20 RBI, even as he’s a distant 11th on the team with 90 plate appearances. The Pirates started him at shortstop for the second time tonight, as Oneil Cruz was sitting against a lefty. Gonzales definitely seems better off at second, but the versatility helps, especially since he probably isn’t going to keep up this pace offensively. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:00 pm

  • Gleyber Torres plates two as Yankees defeat Twins
Gleyber Torres smacked a two-run double on Wednesday as the Yankees triumphed over the Twins.

Advice: Torres capped off a four-run uprising off of Chris Paddack in the opening inning with his two-run double that plated Anthony Rizzo and Giancarlo Stanton. That would be his only hit in four at-bats on the evening. For the season, the 27-year-old infielder is slashing .231/.307/.341 with just five homers, 19 RBI and four stolen bases through his first 63 games. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:46 pm
  • Jorge Polanco won’t return when eligible
Jorge Polanco (hamstring) will not return from the injured list when first eligible on Thursday.

Advice: The 30-year-old second baseman has been making progress in his recovery from a mild right hamstring strain, but he’s not close to a return just yet. He has been participating in infield drills and has been taking batting practice, but it sounds like he may ultimately need a game or two on a minor league rehab assignment before he’s ready to rejoin the M’s lineup. Advice: Paredes opened the scoring in the contest with a two-run single off of Braxton Garrett in the opening inning and then scored on an RBI double off the bat of Josh Lowe. He also plated Brandon Lowe with an RBI double in the third inning that extended the Rays’ lead to 5-2. The 25-year-old is having a terrific season in the middle of the Rays’ lineup — slashing .298/.383/.498 with 10 homers and 37 RBI. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:04 pm

  • Brandon Lowe scores twice in win over Marlins
Brandon Lowe went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a pair of runs scored on Wednesday as the Rays triumphed over the Marlins.

Advice: Lowe smacked a one-out single into right in the first inning then came around to score on an RBI double by Isaac Paredes. He also delivered an RBI single in the third inning then raced around on a run-scoring double off the bat of Paredes. With his two-hit attack, the 29-year-old second baseman is now hitting .221/.329/.412 with two homers and 14 RBI through his first 22 games on the season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:04 pm
  • Jonathan India hits grand slam, Reds sweep Rox
Jonathan India slugged a three-run homer and tallied five RBI on Wednesday, leading the Reds to a 12-7 comeback victory over the Rockies.

Advice: India followed teammate Spencer Steer’s go-ahead two-run homer off Rockies stopper Jalen Beeks in the ninth inning with a grand slam to left field against rookie Angel Chivilli later in the frame to put the cherry on top of Cincinnati’s six-run explosion. He also added a sacrifice fly earlier in the contest to match a career-high with five RBI in the comeback win, which gave the Reds a much-needed sweep of a three-game series at Coors Field. • Spencer Steer slugs go-ahead homer vs. Rockies
Spencer Steer walloped a go-ahead two-run homer in the ninth inning on Wednesday in the Reds’ comeback win over the Rockies.

Advice: Steer was the hero on Wednesday afternoon at Coors Field for Cincinnati as he delivered a clutch go-ahead homer off Rockies closer Jalen Beeks with the Reds down to their final out. It was his seventh round-tripper of the season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:31 pm
