      Martín Pérez allowed four runs (two runs) on five hits in 4 1/3 innings in a no-decision against the Giants.

      Advice: Pérez struck out four but walked three on the day. He started just 10 of the 22 batters he faced with a first-pitch strike and had a zone rate of 36 percent overall which is not good. It led to a 19 percent CSW on the day, and he’s lucky the final line wasn’t much worse. He’ll take a 4.80 ERA into a weekend showdown against the Braves and should not be started in fantasy leagues.     • Zack Littell strikes out seven in loss to Red Sox
      Zack Littell allowed two earned runs over 5 2/3 innings in Tuesday’s loss to the Red Sox.

      Advice: Littell was pulled with two outs in the sixth inning, which came after a solo homer by Jarren Durran. The veteran righty was solid for much of the afternoon, allowing just three hits and one walk while striking out seven batters. Littell wasn’t in line for the win after leaving with the game tied but he will have a chance to earn his third win of the season in his next start on Tuesday against the Athletics.     • Craig Kimbrel back in closer’s role for Orioles
      Orioles manager Brandon Hyde mostly confirmed Monday that Craig Kimbrel is again Baltimore’s closer.

      Advice: It’s no surprise after Kimbrel picked up a clean save Sunday, but confirmation is always nice. MASN’s Steve Melewski quoted Hyde as saying: “Well yeah, I think so. Probably.       Sewald secured the save Sunday against the Tigers by working a perfect ninth inning. He struck out one.

      Advice: Sewald needed just 10 pitches to get the job done and picked up a strikeout against Spencer Torkelson in the process. He's now converted all three of his save chances on the year and has tossed four straight scoreless innings while giving up just one hit since yielding a run in his season debut May 7.       Kimbrel pitched a clean ninth inning, striking out two to pick up a save Sunday against the Mariners.

      Advice: It appears Kimbrel has found his groove again, and he was rewarded with a save opportunity while posting his fourth consecutive appearance without allowing a hit or a walk. It was the first save since May 3 for Kimbrel, who had posted a 16.20 ERA and 4.50 WHIP over 3.1 innings in the six outings prior to this most recent four-game stretch.       Doval struck out one in a perfect inning to earn the save in Sunday's 4-1 win over the Rockies.

      Advice: Doval extended his scoreless streak to 4.1 innings. He needed 17 pitches (10 strikes) Sunday, but he was able to emerge with his eighth save in as many chances this season. The closer has a 3.00 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 24:12 K:BB over 18 innings and has also posted a 2-0 record this season.       Paul Sewald slammed the door on the Tigers on Sunday afternoon, working a scoreless ninth inning to preserve a two-run advantage.

      Advice: The 33-year-old hurler picked up his third save of the season for his efforts. He made it look awfully easy in this one, needing just 10 pitches (nine strikes) to get Wenceel Perez on a fly ball, Spencer Torkelson on strikes and Javier Baez on a pop out to second base to end it.     • Doval locks down eighth save in win over Rockies
      Camilo Doval threw a scoreless ninth inning to close out a 4-1 win over the Rockies on Sunday.

      Advice: Camilo Doval didn’t allow a hit or a walk while striking out one to earn his eighth save of the season. The right-hander has a 3.00 ERA on the season with 24 strikeouts in 18 innings. He has yet to blow a save on the season, and if the Giants lineup can get healthy and start putting up some runs, he could earn some more saves in the months ahead. Rotoworld Sunday, 3:50 pm

      Getting a chance to close for the first time since May 8, Craig Kimbrel struck out two in a perfect ninth Sunday against the Mariners.

      Advice: This was truly easing him back into the closer’s role; not only did he have a three-run lead, but he was getting the bottom third of the Mariners lineup. Kimbrel has allowed just one batter to reach in four scoreless innings since his May 8 outing knocked him out of the closer’s role for a spell.
