    • Punches out seven
Littell didn't factor into the decision Tuesday against Boston, allowing two runs on three hits and one walk across 5.2 innings. He struck out seven.

Advice: Littell fared better against the Red Sox the second time around, holding them to three hits Tuesday after yielding seven hits and four runs to Boston in his last start. Though the 28-year-old did surrender a solo homer to Jarren Duran, he tied his season high in strikeouts and fewer than two batters for the sixth time in his last seven starts. Littell hasn't gone deeper than six innings this season but owns a 3.42 ERA and a 1.25 WHIP across 10 appearances. He's scheduled for a home start against the Athletics next Tuesday. • Zack Littell strikes out seven in loss to Red Sox
Zack Littell allowed two earned runs over 5 2/3 innings in Tuesday’s loss to the Red Sox.

Advice: Littell was pulled with two outs in the sixth inning, which came after a solo homer by Jarren Durran. The veteran righty was solid for much of the afternoon, allowing just three hits and one walk while striking out seven batters. Littell wasn’t in line for the win after leaving with the game tied but he will have a chance to earn his third win of the season in his next start on Tuesday against the Athletics. • Worst start of season versus Angels
Valdez (3-2) allowed eight runs on 10 hits and a walk while striking out three over five innings to take the loss Monday versus the Angels.

Advice: Valdez followed up his start of seven shutout innings versus the Athletics with a dud Monday. He was doing fine until the Angels rallied for seven runs in the fifth, including three-run home runs by Nolan Schanuel and Logan O'Hoppe and a solo shot from Jo Adell. Valdez is now at a 4.32 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 34:12 K:BB through 41.2 innings over seven starts this season. He's projected to make his next start on the road in Seattle. • Framber Valdez gives up three fifth-inning homers
Framber Valdez was pounded for eight runs and three homers in five innings by the Angels in Monday’s loss.

Advice: Valdez allowed just one run on four groundball singles through four innings tonight, but the fifth was a vastly different story. All three homers came in that inning, and it was really pretty amazing that he got to finish the frame while allowing seven runs. Valdez had a 2.88 ERA going into the fifth tonight, only to finish the game at 4.32. It’s the first time in his career that he’s allowed three homers and the second time that he’s allowed eight runs, with the other instance also coming against the Angels in 2020. • Yields one hit over seven frames
Manoah (1-1) picked up the win Sunday against Tampa Bay, allowing one hit and one walk with seven strikeouts across seven scoreless innings.

Advice: After surrendering six runs in his 2024 debut, Manoah has fired back-to-back seven-inning starts without an earned run. Over those two starts, Manoah has punched out 13 batters and yielded five hits and a pair of walks. He'll look to keep rolling in next start, which tentatively lines up for Friday at Detroit. • Alek Manoah lights out in win over Rays
Alek Manoah struck out seven Rays across seven scoreless innings in a 5-2 win on Sunday. He allowed just one hit, gave up one walk, and earned his first win of the season.

Advice: Manoah looked fantastic on Sunday attacking the Rays hitters with his patented slider, sinker combo. Control is paramount for Manoah with his east-west arsenal as he works his way back into a groove. Rotoworld Sunday, 1:44 pm

    • Eovaldi, Dunning throwing bullpens Sunday
Nathan Eovaldi (groin) is throwing a bullpen before Sunday’s game against the Angels.

Advice: Both Eovaldi and Dane Dunning will throw bullpen sessions of around 15-20 pitches before the game. Rangers manager Bruce Bochy told reporters that both hurlers will be evaluated after to determine their next steps. Texas has been decimated by injuries to their staff in 2024, and the return of Eovaldi in particular would be a major boon for the defending champions. A timetable for both starters should be made clearer in the coming days. Rotoworld Sunday, 9:34 am

    • Max Fried surrenders nine hits in loss
Max Fried surrendered three runs and nine hits in 4 1/3 innings Friday in a loss to the Padres.

Advice: Fried didn’t allow any hits in two of his previous three starts. He’d given up a total of seven in his last four. Tonight, though, he just couldn’t stop the bleeding. All nine hits he allowed were singles, and only four of them came on hard-hit balls. Fried definitely didn’t help himself by walking three batters along the way, but this still seems pretty fluky. He’s now 3-2 with a 3.81 ERA. Rotoworld Friday, 9:45 pm

    • Tagged for nine hits in loss
Fried (3-2) took the loss Friday against the Padres, yielding three runs on nine hits and three walks over 4.1 innings. He struck out two.

Advice: Fried turned in his worst outing since allowing seven runs on 10 hits against Arizona on April 6. The Atlanta lefty generated a measly four whiffs over his 88 pitches as the Padres lineup had his number all night. Fried will look to bounce back in his next start, slated to come against the Cubs in Chicago. Rotowire.com Friday, 8:10 pm
