The long ball was the second baseman's fifth this month, and he's now recorded at least one RBI in three of his last five games, batting .318 over that brief stretch. Marte later took Ryan Yarbrough deep for a solo homer in the eighth inning. He’s still not hitting the ball like he did two years ago, but that his strikeout rate is down to 14% has helped him bat .266 and hitting second for the Guardians has given him a nice boost in runs scored (28) and RBI (30).       Advice: Marte went down on strikes in each of his first two at-bats before driving in the first run of the game with a one-out triple in the bottom of the sixth. He would come home to score as well on a Joc Pederson single in the following at-bat, though the effort would fall short as Detroit stormed back in the seventh to take the lead. The triple was Marte's second of the season and extended his hitting streak to 17 games.
