• X-rays negative on Nico Hoerner’s hand after HBP
X-rays came back negative on Nico Hoerner’s hand after being hit by a pitch during Thursday’s game against the Reds.

Advice: Hoerner remained in the contest and appears to have avoided serious injury after being plunked on the hand by a 96.5 mph fastball from Reds starter Hunter Greene during the early stages of the game. It doesn’t sound like he’s going to require a trip to the injured list at this point. Rotoworld Thursday, 7:44 pm

  • Oneil Cruz homers, steals base against Dodgers
Oneil Cruz went 2-for-5 with a three-run homer and also stole a base on Thursday in the Pirates’ loss to the Dodgers.

Advice: Cruz started his professional career with Los Angeles before being traded to the Pirates back in 2017 and came back to haunt his former club in this one with a three-run homer off Dodgers closer Evan Phillips in the eighth inning. It was his eighth round-tripper of the season and he also picked up his fifth steal of the year in this one. Rotoworld Thursday, 6:53 pm

  • Abrams blasts 10th home run Thursday
CJ Abrams went 1-for-4 with a solo home run against the Braves on Thursday.

Advice: The home run was Abrams’ 10th of the season. He had slumped and missed time with shoulder soreness last week, but seemed unbothered on Thursday. Abrams continues to show more power than he did last year as his .211 ISO is a lot better than the .167 ISO he had last year. Rotoworld Thursday, 6:13 pm

  • Bobby Witt Jr. steals two bags in win over CLE
Bobby Witt Jr. reached twice while stealing two bases in a 4-3 win for the Royals over the Guardians on Thursday.

Advice: Witt Jr. is now up to 19 thefts on the year. The speedy superstar is playing at an MVP level with a .317/.371/.560 slash, and has picked up hits in each game thus far in June. If 2025 drafts were held now — and they are decidedly not — it’d be hard to argue that he wouldn’t be the first pick in the overwhelming majority of leagues. Scary to think he’s still only 23, too. • Plays catch Thursday
Mateo (concussion) played catch on the field at Rogers Centre in Toronto on Thursday, Matt Weyrich of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Advice: Mateo was placed on the 7-day concussion injured list Monday after his teammate, Cedric Mullins, inadvertently hit him with the bat in the back of the helmet while in the on-deck circle. It's not clear yet whether Mateo will have a chance to return when first eligible June 10, but him being able to travel with the team and take part in some baseball activities is a encouraging sign. • Corey Seager (hamstring) considered day-to-day
Rangers’ manager Bruce Bochy told reporters after Wednesday’s victory over the Tigers that the hamstring injury sustained by Corey Seager isn’t believed to be serious.

Advice: Bochy noted that his removal from Wednesday’s contest was a precautionary measure and Seager won’t even go for an MRI exam. It’s possible that he’ll get a day off to rest to be on the safe side, but he shouldn’t be looking at any sort of extended absence. Fantasy managers and Rangers’ fans can now breathe a tremendous sigh of relief. Rotoworld Wednesday, 8:44 pm

  • Injury considered minor
Manager Bruce Bochy said after Wednesday's game that Seager's (hamstring) removal from Texas' win over Detroit was precautionary, and the team doesn't consider his injury to be anything serious, Jeff Wilson of RangersToday.com reports.

Advice: Bochy added that Seager will not receive an MRI, and the Rangers will instead wait to see how he feels after Thursday's scheduled off day before deciding whether or not to hold him out for a few games. Should the 30-year-old need to miss any amount of time, Ezequiel Duran would likely be the next man up to start at shortstop. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 8:19 pm

  • Removed with hamstring injury
Seager was removed from Wednesday's game against the Tigers due to left hamstring tightness, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.

Advice: After extending his on-base streak to 28 games with an RBI single in the second inning of Wednesday's contest, Seager was grabbing at his hamstring before being replaced on first base by Ezequiel Duran. The Rangers will likely take Seager in for imaging, and more information on his status may come following Wednesday's game. The 30-year-old infielder has slashed .300/.395/.627 with 11 home runs and 21 RBI since May 1. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 6:04 pm

  • Corey Seager leaves game with apparent injury
Corey Seager was removed from Wednesday night’s battle against the Tigers in the second inning due to an apparent injury.

Advice: Seager opened the scoring in the ballgame with an RBI single off of Joey Wentz in the second inning, but he pulled up lame at first base and ultimately hobbled off the field with the training staff. It’s unclear exactly what occurred, but he’ll head for further evaluation to determine the severity of the issue. Expect the Rangers to provide an update on his status shortly.
