      Brandon Nimmo has been scratched from the lineup for Thursday’s showdown against the Phillies due to illness.

    • Aaron Judge doubles twice in victory over Twins
      Aaron Judge doubled twice on Thursday in the Yankees’ win over the Twins.

      Advice: Judge scalded a pair of doubles in this one that carried exit velocities over 108 mph and traveled over 400 feet, but wound up staying in the yard at spacious Target Field in Minnesota. He finished 2-for-3 with a walk, reaching base safely in three of his four plate appearances in the one-sided affair. The 32-year-old former AL MVP has rebounded from a frosty start at the dish this season, batting .396 (19-for-48) with five homers and nine doubles in 14 contests since the start of May.     • Closing in on rehab stint
      Murphy (oblique) will begin a rehab assignment next week, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.

      Advice: The catcher has been out since Opening Day after suffering an oblique strain, and Atlanta has taken things slowly with him so far. Murphy now appears to be in the final stages of his recovery, but given the amount of time he's missed, his rehab assignment could last more than just a few days.     • Fans seven but takes loss
      Houck (3-5) took the loss against Tampa Bay on Wednesday, allowing three runs (one earned) on five hits and three walks while striking out seven batters over 5.2 innings.

      Advice: Houck made it through three scoreless frames before giving up an unearned run in the fourth. The right-hander had a 2-1 lead when he exited with two outs and two runners on base in the sixth, but Greg Weissert gave up consecutive hits in relief to saddle Houck with two more runs (only one of which was earned) along with the loss. Despite the defeat, Houck gave Boston a solid chunk of innings again -- he's completed at least 5.2 frames in each of his nine outings this season.       Judge went 4-for-4 with a solo home run, three doubles, a walk, two RBI and two runs scored in Wednesday's 4-0 win over the Twins.

      Advice: Judge opened the scoring with his first-inning solo shot and added an RBI double in the seventh. The outfielder has locked in with power over his last 10 games, going 16-for-36 (.444) with five homers, seven doubles, 11 RBI and 11 runs scored in that span. He was batting .207 at the end of April, but he's up to a .255/.386/.540 slash line with 11 homers, 29 RBI, 24 runs scored two stolen bases and 13 doubles over 44 contests.     • Blanks Twins for six innings
      Stroman (3-2) earned the win Wednesday over the Twins, allowing two hits and three walks while striking out two over six shutout innings.

      Advice: This was Stroman's second scoreless start of the season, as well as his third quality start. He entered Wednesday with nine runs allowed over his previous 15 innings across a three-start winless skid. The right-hander trimmed his ERA to 3.33 with a 1.42 WHIP and 42:25 K:BB over 48.2 innings through nine starts this season. Stroman's 4.6 BB/9 remains a concern -- it's by far the worst of his career, though his 7.8 K/9 is line with his career norms. Stroman is projected to make his next start at home versus the Mariners.       Aaron Judge went 4-for-4 with a mammoth home run, three doubles, two runs scored, two RBI, and a walk in the Yankees’ 4-0 win over the Twins on Wednesday.

      Advice: Judge opened the scoring in this one with a solo-shot onto the third deck of Target Field and never made an out. It was the second time in three games Judge had four batted balls over 100 MPH and he’s raised his OPS from .645 to .926 since April 22nd. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:27 pm
       
    • Marcus Stroman twirls six scoreless innings
      Marcus Stroman held the Twins scoreless across six innings on Wednesday earning the win. He allowed two hits, walked three, and struck out two.

      Advice: Stroman wasn’t particularly sharp in this one with just two strikeouts and three walks. The Twins also had 10 hard hit balls, seven of which were hit in the air, but they couldn’t sustain any type of rally. But that’s what happens when the Yankees play the Twins, with a 119-43 record in their last 162 games against Minnesota. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:22 pm
